When i found out Cameron Kings been Cleared to play i nearly fell off my chair.
He didnt know what planet he was in and looked out cold after that knee/thigh to the head.
Theres no doubt in my mind that he shouldnt be playing this week, but the club deemed it a neck injury and hes ok to play theyve stated.
He looked knocked out to me, his leg was in spasms as he was laying in Lala land, and if that happens they must be rested the next week, there was a very heavy brain impact there, a lot heavier than most car crashes.
Are we breaching our duty of care and letting these guys play when they shouldnt be?
Isaac Degoise anybody? look what happened to him.
Not only is it bad for Kings health it leaves us open for liability down the track.
If King ever ends up with a serious brain condition and he took us to court, his lawyer shows the footage of the hit last weekend and accused the club of breaching their duty of care by letting him play the next week, we will be found liable in court i can promise you that.
No idea how he got doctors clearance.

Crazy is as crazy does! Utterly stupid! Give some of the other players opportunities, why not Reed Mahoney? Will Smith?
Snake on the other hand is concerned about the well being of the injured player.
I would be surprised if the Eels Medical staff did not follow formal protocols for HIA before allowing him to play
Why would you say that John? Didn’t I just say in my last comment: “Utterly Stupid” who would that be referring to then, John? To answer the rhetorical question for you, it is “utterly stupid’ of the medical team to put a seriously injured player back onto the field the following week and at the same time neglect the use of some other players to have opportunities whilst Cameron King recovers. John I think you need to read things correctly and not the way you want to interpret it.
It’s a really good point and some legislation needs to happen with instances like this.
Boxing has some very clear guidelines once a boxer is knocked out. I think no fights for 6 weeks or something like that.
I remember last year Corey Oates was knocked out completely cold in a horrendous collision. Bennett played him the following week and he had a total shocker. I can only imagine he still wasn’t 100%.
Players will always want to play. Sometimes medical staff needs to take the decision out of the hands of player or coach.
We all saw Kings head get absolutely smashed, it was a violent collision, looked like his head got whiplashed.
His legs were in spasms as he was laying on the ground knocked out and the club class it as a neck injury and say hes ok to play?
Im all for playing the game tough etc but his brain would have taken some serious bangs on the inside of his skull in that hit.
Not only is it dangerous for him to play him this week if concussion studies are correct, it opens us up for serious liability later down the track.
If him and his manager showed that footage to a court if hes got serious issues like degoise down the track, and accused us of breaching our duty of care by letting him play the next week, there would only be one winner, it wouldnt be the club.
We both know the player always wants to play the next week longy, and very often they do the week after something like this, we can only assume how that happens but i think we both know theres a bit of fudging going on.
I realise there is a test the players do at different time frames in the sheds after being knocked out, King obviously passed those BUT that doesnt mean he hasnt injured and bruised his brain, if you watch the hit again its a full on hit, probably a lot heavier than most heavey car crashes..
Id like to see how many independent doctors would have passed him to play this week after seeing the collision, id be stunned if it was many.
Arthur and the club have the responsibility to not play him. I couldn't believe he was training with the team mid week
