I see Meaney off to bears, makes more sense now why Melbourne is scrambling
Yeah that's why they are interested in Lomax because they need a goal kicker as well since Meany and Paps left. Not sure how true this Howarth news is but Lomax would be more valuable to them because of the kicking duties.
State of origin player & Australian rep. How do you feel about this? Maybe it will work out just to place closure into the matter.
Meaney now reported to have signed with Perth to be their Fullback. Wishart set to follow to be their Hooker. Melbourne are heading towards full rebuild and Lomax could be their last effort to get a comp. That's probably their thinking.
Ok so finally got talking with my contact, he updated about Lomax situation. Now take it any way you want but majority of this has been spot on but again doesn't mean 100% true.
So basically he was all set to join Western Force, him and the mrs were house shopping in Perth. They offered him 400k and he baulked at the price. So he started scrambling to get more money.
Thats where Melbourne come in as they have money in the cap. He admitted Parra won't let him go, he then in desperation, along with manager, threatened legal action hoping Parra would cave and we called his bluff.
Now he's at a dead end as Parra apparently are standing by their guns that he won't be released.
Pretty much my contact said the manager hasn't helped and but he hasn't helped himself listening. Basically he has not much money and the legal fees would ruin him if he took Eels to court. It was used as a scare tactic.
Sounds about right. Hard to maintain high end counsel when you are unemployed.
He still also iterates he has no issues with Parra and they didn't with him until now where they are pussed to put it lightly.

Just to piss a few of you off, if he came back and had his original terms restated.....I would take him! personal logistics notwithstanding......after all he is obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed.....anyone that runs 200 metres a game, does more hitups than any forward, play's 3 positions and kick goals, not to mention his gymnastic ability .......well that is a lot of ice cream to lick out!
