              • So we've got a situation here with two of our most learned contributors (both possibly moderators) challenging each other as to what they would do over potential signings. Both saying they wouldn't pay KK the sum offered by St George. Are people starting to grasp the difficulty faced by Mark O"Neill on a day to day basis and that maybe, just maybe he isn't doing as bad a job as some on here make out?

                • nope

                  • I like it Randy, a concise response:) No need to write a 15 paragraph essay for something that can be said in one word.

                    • Randy just has a problem pronouncing "d's".....we all know he meant "dope".

                    • mope

                    • sorry buddy! don't mope, we love you as a dope!

                  •

                    Haha… well played, Randy.

No doubting it would be very challenging. Ultra competitive, many variables.

But HOE & I (I’m definitely not a moderator) are just fans like all of us, whereas Ben Rogers - I’m less concerned with MoN than others - is paid a very good wage to recruit & retain a premiership competitive roster. He has endless resources, contacts, opportunities, access to agents, players etc - he works within this world on a day to basis, unlike any of us.

Rogers as Head of Recruitment, imo, should be taking responsibility for a roster that shouldn’t be acceptable for upper management at the Eels, and it’s not limited to this season.

He’s had his chance. It’s time for change, and I’m not sure how much evidence, wasted seasons or hamstrung coaches the Eels need to make it.

                    • Club decisions are for the club to make.

I'm staying out of Church of Sackings. It has enough members.

As long as we stay in our opinion lane and don't lose our marbles or humanity, it's all good.

But one thing I do respect is the club backing its people and believing in them. It would be a lot easier to sack a few for optics, or do ridiculous overs for a shiny new recruit, and give fans hope.

It's a race against time, but personally , I hope the club and Ryles era proves all the doomsayers – the ones who call for their heads and call out players and club employees the worst of the worst – wrong.

                    •

HOE, that's exaggerating & inflating truths, much like with $$ figures, to suit a narrative.

It's much easier to devalue all opinions if we class them all in 'poo throwing' at the club, mass sackings, over dramatic & emotional reactions, as opposed to genuine ambition for evolving a system that is not working.

You've replied to me with this, and I've never said anything about mass sackings, quite the opposite.

I'm all for belief in personnel, and I'm all for change when that belief has outlived results.

The hypocrisy is quite extraordinary, what's cherry picking & scapegoating, doomsayers & 'poo throwing' attacks from one side, is completely fine from another dependant on where it’s aimed, and I'm clearly not the first one to have noticed.

I won't comment on this again, because it's a negativity & pessimism that's not in my nature & at the end of the day, what the Eels do or don't do, doesn’t impact me greatly.

We all want success for the club we love, let's just agree to disagree on pretty much every fundamental avenue on how to get there.

I genuinely hope to be wrong about all of it, because that would mean success is much nearer.

                • What would you pay for fish ? There was a big bopper for saints similar to underhill. Look good of that 1 game. We need a fui.
