Bulldogs and their search for a half

So it seems the Dogs have paid the price the Bronco's were after to release this young half from his newly signed 3 year contract early.  Reports were he wanted out as he was promised a top 30 spot straight away and didn't get it.

The money they would have had to put out surely takes them out of the running for Moses one would think.

  • There is no stopping this bulldogs juggernaut, of signings.

  • The papers were reporting during the week that he was to sign with the Dolphins and negotiating the transfer fee

  • 500k transfer fee....it's time the NRL includes the transfer fee in the salary cap. Plus add the 125k a year for 4yrs, all up this kid has cost the club 1mill.

    • Not sure I understand the rationale as to why a transfer fee isn't included in the cap for a player transfer. Doesn't matter if the money is going to the player or not, it was money that was required to complete the signing and put the team together...seems a bit absurd that it's not a part of the cap.

    • Agreed abt the transfer fee. Isn't this included in cap?

Also I don't give a fig abt Gould and C'bury. Their a bunch of grubs anyway and always have been.

  • They are considering signing Cameron Smith, Billy Slater and Cooper Cronk

    • Bred not bought...until you poach a coach and a manager of football and they go on a spending spree.

Tell you what Gus had better hope this all works because the expectations for the Dogs over the next few years is going to be through the roof in terms of improvement and it's easy to forget that they've pulled a bunch of players together who have never played together before, with a coach who has never been a head coach, and a few purchases who are going to be playing out of their NRL experience positions.

Lots of potential, but potential alone doesn't get results.

Of course if it all goes south Gus will find a scapegoat and continue to get his mates in the press to write endless puff pieces about how he is a genius.

      • They have a great team on Paper......but the game is played on grass, so that will have to be the test for the Doggies over the next 2 seasons.

      • The Captain agreed and when has Gus ever been held accountable for anything? He talks through his pocket and always has.
