Bad results happen a lot more when the coach only cares about 2026. He's seen what Hawkins offers and is keen to see what Joash has got. IMO we win with Hawkins at 6, but agree with what Ryles is trying to do. This year is a write off, as painful as it is we need to prepare for 2026.
I think LB after beating Brisbane all most beating Storm then lose to South is a concern i think in my books we shouldn't of lose to south with all there players out and team we play them with we should off put at least 30 points on them
But you are going to get inconsistency with a team that is so bereft of NRL experience. They are still learning most of them. And the NRL, barring maybe 3 or 4 teams at the moment, are inconsistent too, however even they could realistically beat anyone on their day.
Maybe wait until next year before assessing this teams consistency.
Well no as we had 2 good games out of 3. If we had a string of 3-4 then fair but it was one very poor game.
But we haven't had the resources he refers to over that time. We've only recently had the stadium (2018) and CoE (mid-2025). Having a you-beaut stadium isn't a big drawcard for players, it's for the fans and corporates.
His claim about money is also garbage. What good is having all the money in the world when you have a salary cap limiting what you can spend? He forgets to mention we don't have access to club arranged TPA's like Easts, Brisbane, Melbourne, and I dare say Canterbury all do. And don't tell me that those clubs aren't arranging the TPA's. The NRL tuirns a blind eye to them as they want those clubs to succeed.
We weren't rebuilding in 2020-2022. So we haven't been 'continuously rebuilding' as you claim.
And comparing us to Marshall and the Tigers? Marshall in year three of his tenure and only starting to see slightly more success than Parramatta this year after signing a whole bunch of Penrith premiership players? That was the biggest laugh of the whole piece.
