    • History only shows results and will show us fighting to avoid the spoon again.

A valiant loss is just a loss. Injuries have not been as bad as last year, Moses has played more games.

Lots of experience moved on but not much on the market to replace them.

Maybe there are greenshoots for the future but this season is a fail. Just facts.

      Always next year.......

  • Bulldog is just a disgruntled manly fan with a big head, coke bottle shoulders and trex arms. The real problem is the injuries. In turn having to change the team. Having no continuity leads to high error rates. Really need to address this in the off season.

  • Hahahaha some fans  just can't except the truth. Well done Ritchie, keep up the pressure and call it out if we have key staff in key positions on and off the field that are not up to scratch.

'Bring it on I say, no more of this next 5 years bullshit. Go out and buy key staff - Management, Negotiators, Head Shrinks, whatever it takes to bring people that know what a winning formula is, then perhaps look at some very talented NRL players to sign.

Its laughable talking bout Hawkins / Volkman / Twiddle / Papallii as our 5/8 that can get us to a grandfinal. Why are we not talking bout Munster, DCE, Luai and others that have been or could be off contract.

Finding a young team full of potential stars all comming through at the same time and then keeping them as they develop and draw interest from other clubs to win a premiership at the Eels is becoming a million to 1 long shot.

'Why is it other clubs can remain in the top echelon of clubs in the top 8 for decades on end !  or miss out for only 1 season by complementing juniors with experienced in  demand talented NRL players on the market, but we can't. We can't get anyone being courted by other clubs with real talent onto our books.

Sure we buy some great players at times but they either fall into our lap, due to injury, law problems, or moving from interstate / inter country etc, more so then we have competed for their signature against other clubs. WHY ?

We are scoring less points this year then most teams. I don't think these pair would look out of place as assistant coachs . An exciting attacking team we would have.

Everyone knows we need some grunt and someone with real talent in the forwards. Why are we not in calculations. Surely if the Knights were able to just sign Sandon, but he was too rich for us, Dolphins could sign Herbie and now Cobbo a couple of weeks ago but they were too rich for us, Dogs could score Galvin, Roosters can score DCE, and Melbourne after resigning paps this year now have money for Tino, but we don't. I'm as confused as F$%^ what our list manager our salary cap manager is doing with our dollars. Where are our dollars going and who is getting overpaid, with suggestions here "1EE" by notable bloggers that we don't have as much cash as people think. mmmmmmmmm something stinks and someone or some people appear to not be doing their jobs very well within the Eels Management.

Who's job is it to identify our failings and fix it. A lot of fans including myself are getting sick and tired of being beaten by bottom dwelling clubs.

        • There are a heap of players in the NRL who have no interest in moving to Sydney. Tino may be one of them.

          • That's sounds just like our club, mmmmmmmm " thought bubble - maybe Tino dosnt want to live in Sydney, so we just won't allow ourselves to even gauge his interest".

Yep sounds and feels exactly the way we have been operating for a long time.

        • broken record time MON

        • Dont you get it yet?

No one is good enough to play for the EELS unless they are cheap. Anyone that's asking market is an over hyped mercenary.

        • You started out serious Blue Eel, but that bit about the Walkers as assistants is really funny shit. What have they done to deserve an NRL gig, oh that's right, they won a Q cup premiership over 10yrs ago, then couldn't make the semis the following 5yrs, like I said, some really funny shit.
