Buhrer Re-Signs with Manly

http://m.canberratimes.com.au/rugby-league/league-news/jamie-buhrer-resigns-with-manly-sea-eagles-20140624-zskdf.htmlJamie Buhrer has agreed to terms to remain with Manly in a move that gives the club a ready-made replacement for departing back-rower Glenn Stewart. The news is a huge boost for the Sea Eagles before their grand final rematch against the Roosters and could be trumpeted before Friday's encounter.Buhrer has been given several opportunities this year in the starting side when Stewart has been injured and played well enough to convince officials he can do the job on a full-time basis.Buhrer grew up as a Manly fan despite coming through the junior system of Parramatta. The Eels tried to snare the Patrician Brothers Blacktown product on an immediate transfer this year but he never had any desire to leave the northern beaches. The 24-year-old's partner, Grace Adler, is a Sea Eagles employee and he is close to many of his teammates, most notably Daly Cherry-Evans. Manly are keen to extend and upgrade the contract of the star halfback, who has fielded a $1.1 million per season offer from Brisbane. Buhrer's retention is viewed as part of the strategy to keep Cherry-Evans long term.

  • I think this is a good thing. We would have signed him as a bench player and backup for peats.
Can use that money now on a ball playing forward
  • Thank Christ for that we dodged a bullet
  • Agree we dodged a bullet. Very overrated
  • Glad we missed too
  • X2
  • We would have paid overs for him.

BUT I still want to see a signing to replace JOSEPH PAULO!

  • Shits all over half the players we have
  • You beauty I'm so glad he is staying!! This kid is a gun player, shits all over your back row.
    • A very ordinary & overrated player who was not worth wasting any money on. The best news is I hope he signed on for shitloads of $'d to waste and tie up your cap.

    • LOL you can take watmough, his days are gone. To old and to injury prone, please take him next week haha
