Parramatta Eels forward Bryce Cartwright will depart the club effective immediately to pursue new opportunities, marking a return to where his rugby league journey began.
Cartwright commenced his career with the St Mary’s Saints before progressing through the Penrith Panthers system. After stints with the Gold Coast Titans and a transformative period at Parramatta, he now returns to St Mary’s to conclude his professional playing career.
“I’m really thankful to the Eels for the opportunity to be part of this club, it always felt like a home away from home. I’m leaving with positive memories, lifelong mates and gratitude for everyone’s support, especially the passionate fans who have always shown me love.
“While I’ve loved my time at Parramatta, this decision is about making the best choice for my family and our future,” added Cartwright.
Parramatta Eels GM of Football Mark O’Neill expressed the club’s gratitude.

“Bryce is a wonderful person with strong family values. He has played some of his most consistent football with the Eels, and we wish him and his family all the best as he transitions to the next chapter of his life.”
Cartwright played his junior football for St Mary's Saints before being signed by the Panthers and earned a reputation as one of the most naturally talented players in the league. He made seven NRL Finals appearances throughout his career, and played for the NRL All Stars in 2017, and NSW City 2016-17.

I think he had a plan....we saw that crash and burn in the first few rounds. The new plan tries to represent reality as it is for us, but that is a lot like a plan to improvise.
Trusting in the plan (or that there is an implementable plan) smells like cope.
If there is a viable plan, and we fucking spoon with it, is it a shit plan? I think a good plan would get us off the bottom with the cattle we have this year.....otherwise it's just another plan that didn't fly
😂 pick your lip up sunshine reality's setting in 😂

Ahhh the second one mate cmon.
He only really had 1 really good year. 2023 he was great. 2024 he was ok but could tell BA sacking hindered him as he was that close to him. 2021 and 2022 he was ok but still finding his feet in our squad. BA turned him into a tough, 80 min back-rower, for 2023 at least.
Making way for Lee Mossop
Carty was a great player 2023. He became something else as a defensive player that year . But the wheels fell off and watching him run around nsw cup is sad. This guy had the world at his feet skill wise and just didn't quite nail it.
Champion bloke , great teammate and a good nrl footballer . Thanks carty.
Well put PT.
