I read in today's paper about Cartwright's ex being paid $50k for an abortion.Should she be taking the high moral ground seeing as she asked for over $170k?To me,all I think of is the chorus to a Steel Panther song that goes "G-O-L-D-D-I-G-G-I-N-G..W-H-O-R-EEEE!"I hate the thought of a poor potential kid being used as a pawn to extort cash.

As we all know it takes two to tango.Birth control is cheap.A child,as statistics prove from around the world, succeeds best in a nuclear family.Cartwright obviously is not ready to be a father, and without a lot of cash at hand, neither is the mother.Thoughts?

  • Fancy old Beetroot cheeks taking moral high ground on NRL 360 about the issue here's a bloke who recieved cash from Eddie Hayson fucken oxygen thief
    • Ha I laughed at that too. Did you notice the alcohol sweating out of him? What a dope. No credibility and no idea. He is a disgrace and needs to retire to some home, preferably in Wangaratta where we will never hear from him again.
    • He looks 100 in the shade needs to hang up boots old Beetroot cheeks haha
  • If you look deep enough, most scenarios like this always involve $$.

Its not exclusive to rugby league players or women for that matter.

Some people are always looking for ways to make a bit of cash - what better way to do this than to stitich up some stupid guy with and unwanted child.

  • WTF is

simply a young man sowing his oats?

This to me is saying it is fine for young blokes to knock up as many chicks as they like and then just walk away because he was only having fun.

What a disgustingly moronic thing to say Tom.

Cartwright should man up and own his mistakes.

That said (IF media reports can be believed) the woman seems to be looking for a decent pay day - so did she deliberately try and get pregnant?

Either way the whole situation is so wrong in so many ways if this is a reflection of today's Societal values.

    • These days a bit of sexual fun should not end up with a child. There are enough dysfunctional families and single mums already.Call me old fashioned, but every kid deserves two loving parents and to know he is wanted, not just a way to suck cash by a vindictive mother from a reluctant fool.We don't  know if the condom  sprung a leak or both parties just didn't give a shit, but if it was me,I'd happily  accept my offspring.Cartwright, for better or worse has been cast as the villain by a vindictive ex for what I assume was a mutually agreed upon bit of fun.So yes Col,I stand by what I wrote .

  • It shits me that this is even news. So he got a girl pregnant, said he didn't want to have it and in at least one of the texts I saw, told her to have it if she wanted, but that he would not be involved. Cold, harsh or whatever - is that anyone's business?

For men, If you get a woman pregnant (something both are equally responsible for) you don't get to choose. You are supposed to sit back and respect the woman's choice. Here's Bryce saying yeah, nah and I say what's wrong with that? Even offering money to abort, so? She had her options and made her choice. But nah it's all 'Bryce was mean to me'. Why do we care? I don't.

And now the other one's coming out as if she's been vindicated.
    • Ape man, you're right it's not normally anyone's business. He's an NRL player and yes some like the limelight when it suits. I'm not saying him. It's out there for a few reasons, and if it was me my old man would tell me do the right thing and support the child even though I may not be with the lady. If he was mucking around behind other girls back, then bad luck, man up and be RESPONISBILE.
I had to laugh when Beetroot Buzz on wkend said Simona shouldn't be punted.....have to laugh. People seem to find excuses these days for others poor choice of behaviour.
  • Separate of the public airing someone' s private matters and the perceived gold digging if what is reported is to be believed, there is a much more serious debate to had had about this subject. Whilst I agree that it takes two to tango and the male involved should own his actions, it does appear that in these scenarios, the male participant has almost no rights or say in anything that happens. Whilst I personally am troubled by guys who chose to not support their children, i think that when faced with this situation, at least some consideration should be given to the males readiness, preparedness and ability to be a father and be able to support the child.

    • You are right there Ken. I hope his family and so called good friends can drill that into him. I am no do gooder but some good advice and also taking ownership of actions of all concerned would not hurt. He has to get it into his head that although having a high profile, actions still need to be accounted for.
