Bring on 2016!!!!

2015 has been a year for both myself and my favourite NRL team. Never have I ever experienced such awful pain and loss...Firstly my grandfather passed away from pancreatic cancer a week after my hsc trial exams, my friend woke up on the day of our graduation to find his dad dead, my other friend lost her grandmother and to top off that I have two stress fractures in my spine... keeping me out of cricket (my favourite sport, I train on old kings oval behind pirtek) for a minimum of 12 weeks. This combined with the woes of the salary cap, foran saga and the overall inconsistency of our season has made this year pretty shit. The year of 2016 will much, much better. Now whilst I am very optimistic, I am trying not to be over confident as it will mean a fall if things don't go our way.Ive been on this website without fail each day this year and I'm glad that this has given me an opportunity to take my mind off other things. Thanks to everyone who posts interesting and provoking discussions. To 2016!!!

  • Welcome to the site TPC, sorry to hear about your bad year but to be honest life only gets worse mate, death, disease, pain, hurt, loss, being sued, chronic illness, relationship breakdowns, divorce, murder, addiction, depression, being stuck with dopey children you never wanted or asked for, then you end up in an aged care facility off your tree on meds with Alzheimers crying out for lost loves that had since passed.

Mate i really doesnt get any better so try and enjoy it while your young.

    cheers and welcome

    • lol Snake. That is so depressing its very funny. There is something most people can do that actually brings a smile to your face - go do a Tafe course in ballroom dancing. It ends up being hilariously funny. I have a bucket list item to do a Fred and Ginger routine at some sort of function with the dance at the end of this being the easiest I think https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYX-7vcKvMM  As my wife won't do it, are you up for it Carloeel?

  • I wish i was playing cricket to, i missed the sign ups which sucks because it was supposed to be my comeback year. :(
  • I hear you mate. I've personally had a tough year as well, but things get better. It might not seem like it but they do.

I'm a cricketer as well mate and sat out nearly half of last season including our grand final due to injury. Your body will come good and you'll be back on the pitch in no time.

  • Many years ago a mate dragged me to this place that taught rock and roll dancing. He was told it was a good place to meet women. I never stopped laughing because as bad and uncoordinated as I was, I was still better than the others in attendance. I'm not sure that laughing out loud was appropriate but I had a ball - though I didn't go back.
    • Same story. My wife is pretty tough and even she was laughing out loud for the same reason. It was a combination of watching others and tripping over ourselves. Would definitely recommend it to help lift spirits be it ballroom or rock and roll or some classes do both and do something different each week. This is my personal uplifting bit of stuff which always puts a smile on my face https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dl6FLfHTC68

      • Tragic, agree. I took up ballroom about 12 years ago and ended up doing some low level competition. Great for exercise and stress relief.
  • lol PT look no further than taking poppa as your dance partner, he;d be in for sure lol

    • As long as he can dance backwards in heels!

  • Thanks guys
