Considering that the coaching situation at Parramatta is down to a few assistant coaches
Brian Smith offers a point of difference. An eye to pick out a good player the ability to play them in good combinations within his team selections.
I also believe that out of the available coaches his the one that has the capability to get them back firing asap with only minimal changes.
The fact that he has a desire to win a grand final and with all his experience he needs to be seriously considered as the next coach. (Or at the very least in some capacity)
His teams always played a good style

Penrith (Matt Cameron) simply instituted Brian Smith's Eels player development systems.
Is this true, Muttman? What were those systems and what happened to them?
It was highly skills based development. All players had to be able to do everything regardless of position. A big emphasis on players from any junior club getting a shot, no favourites or nepotism. It's not a magic system but it was well organised and Brian was in charge.
Obums, id encourage you and anyone else thats interested to watch a utube podcast called coach Brian Smith - Coaching wisdom - get the edge with Hayden Knowles. Both great Parra people and gives you an insight into that period when Brian was coaching at the eels
Yeah, Mick. Agree. That's a great podcast on YouTube. Did you listen to Knowlsy interview Dogs' CEO Warburton? His experiences under Steven Edge at the Eels. Interesting.
I love listening to coaches, CEOs, former players give insights and share their experiences. Even old Gus, who isn't loved much on here lol.
I knew you would be on to it HOE, that golden period when Brian Smith was coaching was no fluke, it's unusual to think that families would want their young kids to join the eels program ahead of clubs like the roosters - the club must target Brian smith. I haven't listened to the Warburton one yet I will tonight, ah the great Gus the guys never wrong! Lol
Tim Mannah and Mitch Allgood still credit Matt Cameron till this day.
If I was on the Board he'd be the first person I'd hire. Pay him what he wants. We sadly lack that expertise and we used to have all these fantastic brains at our club.
Don't need any expertise. We have MON.
Some one take him out!
Damn MoN..
