Brent Sherwin

just heard on the radio parramatta have made an offer to Brent Sherwin and he is close to signing.

This is awful news and an absolute disgrace if we end up with both Sherwin and Piggy.

No offence to both these blokes but they are both past their best. So much for our big signings if these are the ones that eventuate.

  • That will absolutely do me if we end up signing Sherwin. As bad as all the talk was about going after the likes of Kimmorley and Orford, going after Sherwin is a whole different kind of desperation.

    I'm shattered.
  • If we think that Morts, Robson, KK and Humble lack ability to 'play-make' then Sherwin brings a whole new world of inability to the table!

If true, the club sounds desperate!
  • What the fuck is it with chasing after old codgers well past their used by date!
Next we will be throwing money at Cliffy Lyons, im sure hes still running around for Umina or Wyong and would love another crack at the NRL!
I mean he is only 48 years old and been out of the top grade for 10 years, hang on i think that qualifies him as a "junior old timer" meaning he might be eligible!
  • are we becoming the new souths sydney? retirement home for has been footballers..
  • What a joke. This is absolute bullshit! If we can't sign anyone better than Sherwin don't sign anyone at all. 2011 is looking worse than 2010. It's an insult to our current sqad signing this bozo.
  • What station did this come from JL and was it stated by the announcers or just a phone in caller?.

I watched the Challenge cup semis the other night Sherwin played halfback for Catalans. Honestly I barely saw him involved in anything, most of their creativity came from thomas bosc and he was god awful so that shows how much confidence Sherwin has.

Honestly if he is our number 7 game 1 next season I won't bother watching.

Absolute disgrace that we are even looking at this bloke.
  • That'll do me. I've lost all faith in the club management. Looking from the outside it seems they have no clear direction and ozzie is failing to attract players. To me he seems like he's being controlled by other people. We need a leader not a puppet. Considering virtually half the side will be gone next year and we've signed no one, it looks like a tough year for us next year and beyond.
  • Which radio station did you hear this on?
Signing Brent Sherwin is most definitely not my preferred option, nor is it the answer.

As I've said before, I don't so much re-signing Piggy as he has been in good form in England and has lost weight since he last played with us, so I'm not too displeased about his possible signature though.

    Sherwin though?
I mean, I hardly even know what he was doing after he left the Dogs several years ago.
I haven't heard anything from anyone with contacts in England that he was even playing well.

Surely we haven't signed Sherwin though?
The current administration have to realise that he is past it and that we should target someone younger like Cooper Cronk or Jarrod Mullen.
  • Brett Sherwin is definietly not the answer at all!!

proberly some bullshit to put people off the scent of the real target!

    and If it isn't NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  • The more and more I think about this, the more I think it's a load of tosh.
Surely our administration has more common sense rather than signing a halfback who is evidently past it.

"When you look at it that way, 1.2 is a lot. I reckon he has more in him than what he's showing at the tigers. Under Ryles he'd be a different/better player in my opinion.

Even the defensive urgency isn't there for him anymore."
