Rabbithos have a lot of compeition in the outside backs this year with the emergence of Correy Allan and Jackson Paulo. Next year, the outside backs will look like:
1. Latrell Mitchell
2. Alex Johnston
3. Dane Gagai
4. Cambell Graham
5. Corey Allan
This means that Jackson Paulo, Braidon Burns and Steven Masters wont be playing unless injuries occur. Personally, I believe Paulo and Burns are both first grade quality so eels should go hard for Burns to replace Jennings. The past 2 years Burns has suffered a couple of injuries, but when he could string a few games together, he was looking very damaging.

33 games over 4 years for 7 tries, not exactly setting the game alight.
IF I was looking to try and poach anyone from the Bunnies it would be Allen first then Paulo.
Can't see it happening though.
Notice Sowfs have 3 FB in the back line LaToilet, Johnston and Corey Allen.
LOL Burns close to signing.....he's the centre/winger i mentioned in the other blog.
From what I have seen from Burns he has some ability but unfortunately seems to have injury issues.
To save Slugg the time away from cooking his soup - Eels only sign players other clubs don't want.
No MJ - guess we wait to see what happens *NEXT YEAR*sigh*
Impact forward anywhere on the radar?
FB - Gutho / Smith with other possibles.
Wing - Fergo, Sivo, Oldfield, Dunster, Blake
Centres - Blake, Opacic, Oldfield, Burns - Rankin possible, Smith utility
Halves - The Prophet, D Brown, Rankin, Roache(?) Lussick(?) Smith utility
Smith is the go to backline, and possible DH utility, hence shuld get jersey 14 imo.
I don't think that line up is all too shabby actually.
Were does it say Burns was leaving, the last i heard it was Corey Allen being told he could shop himself around, on top of that Gaigai is a winger. I would think Burns and Graham will be the centres with Gaigai and Johnston on the wings, Allen, Marsters and Paulo as backup.
Gagai also plays centre. He just won an Origin series playing every game in the number 4 jersey.
Yeah Pou, I know that and the only reason he played there was QLD had so many players out injured, Bennett has stated many times he views Gagai as a winger, I would be surprised if he starts at centre over a fit Burns. Burns is a great centre and loves looking for work he is very good defensively and would be a great pickup IF the Eels were chasing him.
Pretty good story here: NRL 2019: Braidon Burns hopes to use Rabbitohs profile for good | D...
"Subscriber content only" is always informative Poppa.
I don't know which journo is responsible for Subscriber content only but he gets right to the point everytime.
The word I heard just before SOO, and the public announcement of Allen being told he could look around, was the Eels were well progressed in talks with him - but NOTHING has happened since.
Supposedly Allen was given the green light a few weeks prior but nothing was released publicly.
Allen was supposedly showing interest in the Eels.
Says a lot about "reliable" sources.
What if Wong is wong? Ever consider that Old man?
Burns is capable, hasn't set the world alight yet but is still young. So far hasn't been able to crack a regular first grade gig so should be cheap.Would rather Allen who could cover fb if needed. Is he better than Opacec? Same same.In short why bother buying 3 chickens when we could just buy one turkey
