He should say that the losing coach is a whinger for highlighting refs decisions . He has never blamed the ref , we get poor decisions throughout the game against us and that coaches should stop using the refs for their teams incompetence and they should concentrate on their own team not making errors.
i feel these whinging coaches are going to cost us in business end of season as they are perpetuating a myth that we get these decisions our way. Just like manly game everyone harped on the forward pass at end of the game but conveniently left out manly scored from forward pass earlier or following week we did legit pass and denied a try

Press conference is a golden opportunity to set the media and public perceptions which then affects the refs. Since the Manly game the opposition has been getting away with blatant forward passes and not just this game. There were 50:50s both ways in the Manly game yet BA let the story be all about the one that went against Moanly. Same here - the headlines are all about the 50:50 that went against the Sharks. He does need to whinge but just contest the BS that will hurt us later. The players deserve an even playing field
I thought John Morris’ complaints were fair tbh. I was surprised, happily so albeit, that Cummins let the scrum push go, it has been pulled up a lot this season. To Morris’ credit he did say that we were the better team.
They have actually been very clear about pushing in the scrum. Eels already did a push this year and won the scrum with no redo. Everyone gets confused about it but the refs have always maintained that players can't drop of the scrum early when they push and only the halfback (in the game, Lane was the person) and the player locking the scrum at the back (in the game, Gutho was that person) can pick up the ball from the scrum. If teams actually listened to the refs maybe they would know that what eels did was perfectly fine.
John Morris doesn't know the rules. That's why he's confused.
What I found odd was a coach doesn't know the rules. You can push if the ball is not out. You can't push before it's put in. The reason 99% of the time it is reset is because the opposition team pushes too early or too late because the halfback can put it through the second row there is a very very small window of time to get it right.
John Morris came over looking like a sore loser, if he was honest they had the chance(s) to ice the game and they weren't good enough. I'm sure Morris attacked the ref to take the heat off SJ.
To BA's credit when the eels lose they own the loss no one else.
Couldn't aggre more. Calls go either way but some coaches only see the ones that go against them & blame that call or calls for loosing.
Who gives a fudge about these media concocted narratives. We are winning tight ones, which is almost every game, just like the good teams do.
The opposition coach reaction in all of these is the result of a tough tough game and no reward. Adding salt to their wounds is that we’ve been (and refs) handing these games to opposition for years and coaches can’t hack it now that we don’t.
Not once has BA ever hit up the refs. I hope he never does. 80 minutes is a long time to win or lose a game and he knows it.
All class at Parramatta.
Spot on, the moment BA blames the refs it gives the players an excuse to do so
I lke that BA never offfers up excuses for a loss or poor performance. Even when we've had a dud call or two in a losing game he deflects it and focuses on the things they can control.
I'm sure a ref subconscously feels differently about a club who give them shit in the media versus a club who says nothing, it's simple human nature even if they're not conscoiusly biased there can be a bias created.
