Brad Arthur "Arthurs"

We all have been puting a lot of emphasis into the players of late of where they should play, who to retain and who to sign, resign etc. I have also noticed brad Arthurs contract expires next year, is it to early to extend his contract now or wait until closer to the expire date..?I believe we should be looking at locking him up for further three years. It would be safe to say the players respect him as a coach, and has a no bullshit policy in place, put in or your on notice.He has proven a lot with what he has walked into from the beginning ,it is also evident he has served his apprenticeship under the watchful eye of Bellamy and Toovs and has unearthed our younger stars to be.Brad gains a lot of respect from his players and also players throughout the nrl who have been interviewed and they have praised him for the player they are today, that in it self says something about the coach who is home grown blue and gold.I really hope the club is in deep discussions to extend Brads contract,it is well deserved.I can also give you some more positive news regarding what is happening around the ground.Parramatta are working with Parramatta Park Trust to reach an agreement on a new lease to build a new car park for the benefit of members at Parramatta Leagues Club.They are also working with Parramatta Council and the NRL to develop new training facilities and a high performance centre for the Eels.Club renovations and improvements at Parramatta Leagues and the Vikings.

I think BA = 3 years, expires 2016, the year Eels make the Grand Final.

no brainer - sign the man, he is a keeper and will still be at parra well beyond 2016

He's signed to the end of 2016 and the club only came out 2 weeks ago and said they were looking to lock him in long term

Mmmmm, this is BA's first year of a 3 year contract & he is a rookie FG coach.

IMO the club should not sign a contract to extend his tenure until they r confident that he is the real deal, probably during the latter part of next season providing his performance in 2015 warrants an extension.

  How many times do you see a Coach or even a player have a great 1st Season and then things go down hill from there.Other teams work out their style of play,weakness & strengths.Its then that you really know if you have a great coach.

Wallace in 2010 the Titans got 1 game away from the GF.They decided to sign Cartwright to a 5 yr extension.The Titans are now facing a million plus payout if the sack him.

I ask this question what club would sign a coach to a contract 18-24 months out whilst he is still employed elsewhere? No one has done it and don't believe they will.Players have been signed like this but I honestly think this is fraught with danger look at Ben Barba as the perfect example

We had this blog a while back Pm.

If I was Sharp and the board members (or whoever negotiates the Coach's contract) I would have a chat with BA at season end to let him know what a great job he has done 2014 and IF he can continue then contract renewal would be coming up within 8 months of the expiry date.

He is in his first year of a 3 year contract if I am not mistaken so I see no advantage in sitting down to negotiate until 2016.

LOL Steward was in the paper claiming he wants to sign or keep BA for 10 years, bit early for that Scott lol, but yes he loves it as coach here i recon, he loves parra, and this is a team i think he thinks he can build his career as a coach.

He is certs to stay and sign another contract, apparently the dragons have already expressed interest in him, i think thats why SS did a bit of a song and dance about it.

He wont be leaving parra for a while if he keeps going like he is.
