Both Tuivaiti and Tuilagi out, who replaces them?

What was our strongest part of our team is now getting slimmer. With Tuilagi and Tuivaiti out, who do we see coming in for the week?

More likely we see Williams stay in the middle and Guymer moves to an edge. Then the two bench spots for Tuivaiti and Guymer would more likely be taken up by de Belin and Brown. Not sure if someone like Jezaiah Funa-Iuta will be ready either.

So Russell for Nanva is one change. De Belin will get Tuivaiti's spot more likely. So who replaces Tuilagi?

  • I think Kelma will be cleared, didn't look like a Category 2. Russell coming back will help a lot. Also once Iongi is back we will look much better. The injury toll is insane but guys have to keep turning up regardless. Yesterdays effort wasn't good enough

  • Thing I worry about and what's been eroded away his week to beat the Dogs you have to go through the middle of them. That's where they are weak the middle of the park.Fowards short passing creating ruck speed so our halves can play off the back of it.

Structurally any good ball off a fast ruck Moses has to have his finger prints on both sides of it.If he just sits on the right side we'll get proper farked.Right now Moses needs to overplay we are so down on talent our best player has to be on the ball more and everyone else just pitch in to make his job easier.

Getting Russell back helps but predictably Moses is the key.

I remember a lot on here giving DB the same crap expecting Moses to pull a result out of his arse all while our coaching staff and injury were rife they continued parking DB up on the right side to accomodate Asi footy Dean or whoever else all while his fowards were getting arseholed.

1.3 per season I feel Moses is getting off lightly from the fanbase funny how that works.

    • Moses is a great player but the team around him is a shambles. Half the time he isn't getting the ball when he calls for it. Hes still trying hard but the team is just a mess right now due to injuries and new faces

      • Exactly pity alot of the fanbase couldn't see that when DB was posted by the same issues but I guess some see what they want to see.

Now DBs bailed look at the hole that's been left and still will be left next year and into the future if we aren't careful.

        • Its funny how many people were so happy that DB left and now they are all complaining he is gone. People finally realising he was actually the perfect foil for Moses but oh well shame only a few people could see it on this site.

          • Just read your comment after saying the same thing elsewhere EA... you and Coryn are dead set right as usual :) !

One thing I'll add is that Im not sure Papalii is the one to take over I think spatial vision which a half almost certainly needs is there from get go not sure it's easily taught...sorry for him as he does really try hard but hope we don't put our eggs in that basket for too long :(

            • Yea Papalii is just the backup fullback next year. I am surprised by how poor some of his passes were yesterday but to be fair he has barely played any rugby league this year as he just sits on the bench and doesnt play cup. Renzo is the future 6

              • Gawd I just hope we have got him wrapped up, seriously don't think we could handle losing him.

                • Renzo is signed till end of 2028. Only on dev deal 2026 & 2027. 2028 is top 30. His contract can always be upgraded anyway.

            • He's not Macy hence why Pezet walked straight in there.

What we really need is either a proper answer on the open market or a junior to have a really big off season and make the position his in the mentioned period.

EA would no more than anyone about the latter.

But it just feels to me that there's a huge disconnect in the recruitment and development stakes they are nowhere close together.Alignment was a popular word in the off-season well I'll use misaligned because that's what the club feels like right now.

Injuries have exposed us and no one could have foreseen how many we've had put but the players we've lost vs what we've added is just night and day in the wrong direction talent wise and I don't care who the coach is that is like chopping a coach at the knees with regards to the mentioned. How is JR to fix this he can't.

R and R needed to be making moves now not tomorrow not next week next month right now.

Given the raft of injuries across first grade I thought it best to collate it all together to see where we currently sit. Have sorted it into positions.
1. Iongi
2. Twidle
3. Russell (maybe back this week)
4. Samrani
5. Simonsson
6. Pezet
7. (Moses…
