I was rapping this kid like no tomorrow, His debut for Wenty was great and his 2nd game for Wenty was good aswell, and I saw that 20's were on tv for the final 2 weeks so I was excited to see French play a lower level to what he played in NSW cup, and I felt disappointed, against Cronulla he set up a try by jumping and catching and handing it off, then against Canberra he backed up beat 1 player, and handed it off too ZDC, they were good try assist but I expected more. I read Forty's commentary on 20's against St. George Illawarra and every single paragraph he wrote French was there, where against Cronulla and Canberra I didn't see that.
Is it that he's re-signed now he's now got a "I've made it now" attitude, or couldn't be bothered or bored with 20's and wants to be in NSW cup
I would've loved to seen him finish the year in Wenty, cause he is the future and then we can really get an insight into this guys work ethic and/or ability. Just hope that it him carrying something or not trying as the season was gone (which he shouldn't do) cause if this guys plays to his ability, we'll have a crash hot Fullback to prance around the back and add some much needed speed

He has a touch of class about the things that he does but he has been surrounded by an NYC team that has performed quite poorly this year.
He is not another Jarryd Hayne. He is not the great hope. But what he is capable of could place him in the very good NRL player category.
We will find out more about him next year as he moves into the full time squad, plays NSW Cup and maybe gets blooded in a couple of NRL games.
But please, let's keep the hype down.
It won't do us or the kid any good to place unrealistic expectations on him.
I didn't see anything to be hyped about yesterday
Eg 10 out from the try line and the back line is in play and when he has ball in hand if there is a slim (20%) chance of a scoring the try and outside centre and winger has 80% he should pass but he takes it himself usually.
I think he is to small ATM to move up. unless off season is great to him.
I know it takes time to mature. rugby league is a team sport as last year NYC team played as a team and this year it looked more individual play so understanding that they lost a lot of games. IMO
I watched him closely for the first time yesterday and definitely did not see anything worth getting excited about. That was first time I really sat there and payed attention since hearing everyone rave about him though
I was thinking to myself, who was the last player to paly decent in like QLD or NSW cup but absolutely dominate in the NRL, and Munster was ok in QLD cup now getting big buck offers
hopefully that's French
