I'm excited about 2016, the Eels have struggled with halves since Sterling and Kenny.
Since the Sterling/Kenny days we've seen many a halves combination, the closest we've come to a solid combination is the Taylor/Beutner combo, in my opinion, they were the best halves combination we've had since Sterlo and Kenny.
They got us within a whisker of a premiership, Taylor's organisational skills and experience combined with Beutner's running game was the best pairing we've seen since our golden era.
Both Taylor and Beutner were in their twilight hence offering a small window for success.
The Mortimer/Robson combo was solid at best, it's no secret our successes in 2009 was solely due to Hayne's freak like skills, Hayne was so good, my wife and I could of been the halves and we would of made the grand final.
Norman was a revelation in 2015 and one of the few positives for the season, his running game was exemplary, his defence was awesome, Norman came of age.
The signing of Foran to combine with Norman gives us the best halves pairing I've seen since Sterlo and Kenny. Both players are approaching their prime, both have their best years ahead of them.
We have not had a pairing of this quality and most importantly a pairing offering a long term solution since our glory days.
This pairing bears a resemblance, Norman has great hands, decent passing game and a dangerous running game, Foran can read and set the tempo of game, both have a decent kicking game.
We'll never see the likes of a Kenny/Sterling pairing, they were in my opinion the best pairing the game has ever seen.
The Foran/Norman should prove to be is the closest we've come since our hey days.

Now you've jinxed it.
For some reason my post disappeared, i was saying i think Corey has Brett covered in most departments at 5/8 so comparing Corey to Brett is a bit of an insult for Corey.
kidding right.. i know it christmas mate..
Not better but potentially the best halves we've had since our last successful era.
