With the NRL season under a month away, Parramatta announced Bob Bentley as their new chief executive on Friday.
Bentley has been operating in the role in an interim capacity since the departure of former boss Paul Osborne in November.
Osborne's resignation followed a breakdown in his relationship with the club's major sponsor, Pirtek.
Bentley, who also worked as the leagues club CEO from April 2010, takes on the same role once occupied by long-serving Eels boss Denis Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald was replaced by Osborne in 2009.
Club chairman Roy Spagnolo said Bentley's ability to work across both roles worked in his favour.
"The leagues club and the football club are intrinsically linked so it makes sense, with the right support structure in place, for us to have a CEO who can implement the board's strategic direction in both areas," Spagnolo said.
"We've been more than happy with Bob's performance to date and we are satisfied he is the right choice to take us forward."
Bentley was delighted to have been appointed.
"I am very excited about being appointed to the position of group CEO and the opportunity to work with the board, management and staff across both the football and leagues clubs," he said.
"There is a great feeling in the club at the moment and about the club's future both on and off the field and I will be working hard to ensure it is well positioned for a successful 2012 season."

i dont know...............is this good or bad
bongo....do you have any problems with this?????????
are there any conflicts of interest here??????
i am with you bongo, if you agree with this, then i do aswell
its bongo month at the coconuts, and we will agree with everything you say
i guess we might see one zappia back as football manager like in fitzy's rein.
Are you sure he is CEO for both or am I misunderstanding?
I read the article as though he was former Leagues CEO and is now Footy CEO.
It does seem a pretty remarkable about face, considering that one of the first things the board did when they came into power was to split the roles.
I'm not against having one person in charge of both, but I do think there needs to be a football manager type position created. This would mean someone could oversee recruitment, development, coaching etc while the CEO can concentrate on running the business side of things.
hehehe
4 months in the dual role and we havent heard a bad report thus far, 4 months into Ossies reign he was knocking off the local Woolies and blaming others for his impending failures
It would be funnier if he actually drove a Bentley
Bob's new ring.
Hmmmmmm.
Why do I have an uncomfortable feeling about this??
