Its all being played out through the media.
The Tigers lit the fire earlier in the week and carried on like absolute pork chops over a kid who made a decision to leave... and by about Wednesday the public sentiment was shifting to it being a complete overreaction by them and bullying.
I'm pretty sure thats exactly what the Galvin camp wanted and will probably push for a sooner release going forward based off it. Once the Tigers thought about their next move ..it's all been to speak about his welfare, the other players not asking for him to be dropped , him being invited to stand down if the pressure was too much etc.. you'll notice these sorts of stories are usually through their media men like James Hooper. Benji's press conference was heavy on the welfare angle, mentioning hes never made him uncomfortable and hes never been bullied which is complete BS coz we all saw it from their immature players.
The other side has started reporting harassment , Luai wanting to play with the other half etc etc... It will continue over the next week and Galvins team will be trying to get him out ASAP no doubt. Its untenable , he cant play with those blokes ever again. It's just going to be about how much of everyones time the Tigers want to waste - as theyre entitled to do as he's a contracted player .. but I think its in their best interests to get things wrapped up qiuckly as their season is quickly going off track and will only moreso if Galvins camp wants to expose their stuff publicly on the way out.
Tigers doing some damage on the bullying antics of their 2 players.
I think benji has let the tail wag the dog
I think he is being honest here
Shane Richardson has been awfully quiet, I bet he's the main instigator.
That heap started it all . He was clearly pissed about the decision and the reasons and tried to show he and his club are no pushover.
Agree, Carls. I felt for Benji. Analyst - that's exactly what I've been thinking all day. My guess is Richo started the leaks (or approved them) to hit back at Team Galvin.
Unfortunately, it's Benji, the club, and senior players that will also take bullets not just Team Galvin. The very public attack on the young coach from Team Galvin is like screaming from the rooftops he has a tiny chopper. True or not, it sticks in people's memories for some time.
A club's dirty laundry should never be aired, regardless of any good intentions or circumstances. Loose lips & media hyenas.
Galvin has to go asap, regardless of the blame games. The Club has to come first.
Imo
When Richo came on board @ the Tigers, he was hailed as their savior and a top adminsitrator. He threw a grenade early in the week and ducked for cover, not to be seen or heard again. He let the players take over the media narrative then when it became a bit heated, the coach stepped in to defend the bullying aspects.
Where is he now?
What a douchebag!
Luai and Api were asked do you think Lachie was bulled? Both "No". Nowdays, that is text book bullying.
I saw the old it was just a joke line trotted out also.
Benji was asked and said it was an emotional reaction .. it was a reaction by a clique of players that are creating their own culture at the Tigers now they've left Penrith.
