Ben Hunt to Miss Eels Clash

It looks like the Dragons won't have Ben Hunt in their side against the Eels in the Sunday Afternoon match at Bankwest Stadium. Ben Hunt was injured in the game against Manly and is looking at 4 to 6 weeks on the sidelines. Hopefully that should increase the Eels chances of victory against the Dragons who are coming off 3 straight wins and the Eels with a 4 straight winning margin. However, the Eels would do well not to take any match lightly regardless of which players are absent. Injured Dragons captain Ben Hunt believes the NRL is responsible for a growing injury toll in the league having “gone too far” in trying to speed play up.Hunt played 71 minutes against the Sea Eagles on a broken leg and is now facing four to six weeks on the sidelines.

  • I'm sorry monto I don't like it, you shouldn't be scared by 1 player

    • I didn't like it either and it took some courage to post this.

  • eels by at least 20 with or without hunt

  • The fact the Dragons didn't name him in their squad when the team list was announced yesterday was also a pretty good indicator that he wouldn't be playing.

  • I'd be more concerned with Norman. He will rise against his old club, and we know how good he can be if he is on his game.

    • Agreed. Norman's strung together two above average games in a row for probably the first time since he's pulled on the red V, he'll be keen to make that three in a row against us. Throw in his reunion with Hook, and this being a contract year and you've got all the motivation he needs to turn it on against us. Tariq Simms also looks to have found his best form in a few years. While Hunts a loss, they'll still back themselves to upset us.

Frankly, I wouldn't want it any other way. I'd love every single one of the so called "second tier teams" to turn up against us, so when we do finally encounter the top teams we'd have been tested.

For all their poor defence, and our forced errors, the Tigers exposed a genuine gap that we need to address in Fergo's abysmal performance under the high ball. The Dragons will look to expose something else which is a gift in my eyes. I'd rather a hard fought win, rather than the walks in the park Penrith have been experiencing so far.

    • turn it up, he was a wallflower against s last year

    • Yea his contract must be up for renewal.

"Nope he is fit finally! Listed at 26.I honestly got no idea what injury he had that caused him not to play the second half of the year. hopefully he has a strong year in nsw cup. I rate him more than Jezaiah and Samrani, as a backrower if he stays…"
