Bellamy extends 2028 - Ryles finishes 2028

Melbourne will have their eyes on Ryles there's absolutely no doubt.  If i were Sarantinos and the board I'd be in talks right now to extend Ryles.

Ryles will turn this club around the longer he is here the better we'll get. Every player he's brought to this club has made it better. He's cut the deadwood, fixed up our previously languishing reserve grade outfit and has some great development coming through all grades.  We started the year badly and it took time for players to adhere to Ryles's style.  At season's end we had some good results beating the Warriors in nz, Roosters, Broncos, absolutely flogging Newcastle who were trying to avoid last place.

Then there's the emergence of Ryley Smith, Williams,  Kautoga,  Iongi Tuivaiti and many other players improving.

I don't know about you guys but id like to see Ryles tied up until at least 2030.

It really seems like they *stirm( are going to target Ryles without any doubt

  • Thing is, yes Chief you make a great point, his family live in Wollongong. Always have. When he got the Parramatta job his family threw a street party as he was going to be home more often.

When he worked for Melbourne his wife and kids stayed in Wollongong. I don't think he would want to move fulltime. I mean yeah 3 years is a long time anything could change but also he knew Bellamy wouldn't be around for much longer, why take the risk going to Parra and maybe failing to prepare for Melbourne?

He could have stayed in Melbourne as long as he liked then got the job after Bellamy. He's still young enough to wait.

Plus this whole thing between Parra and Melbourne with Lomax I reckon has strained the relationship between Ryles and Melbourne.

    • I'm not sure why you think it was a risk for him to take the Parra job. It's more of a risk to take over from Bellamy. 20 years of being in the top 8 versus a team that had plenty of room for growth. There was no risk in taking the Parra job
