    • Mahoney one was Matt Arthur was the future.

      • That's correct.

The bush coach didn't want anyone blocking boods Arthur.

Also.  Jakey would be our 6 if ba wasn't still in the joint and the fans didn't stand up for the club

    • what about Gutherson at (1). ........it will make Chief's day if you can pull that one out of your arse.

PS Mahoney and Moses didn't get on, Brown got an offer he could not refuse and Gutho got a retirement package to take him into his sixties......Moses only survivor and he is overated, R&R could get rid of him.....then we could play with a new spine!

      • Gutherson at 1? Poppa you now need to put coins into the swear jar 🫙 . And knowing popo, he's that tight he pulled the globe light out of his fridge.   True story

      • If RNR didn't put PO options every year in browns deal he still would be here on a long term deal.

Mahoney and Moses didn't get on but we were 80 mins away from ending a 40 year hoodoo rightio buddy the RNR lowballed him offered him 450k-500 or something like that at the time.

        • Again I don't think Moses and Mahoney hate each other. It is more so they couldn't play together as they get in each others way. Outside they are fine apparently.

Though they got results. Still to this day I contend Moses has played his best footy with Mahoney at Hooker.

      • I think Moses and Mahoney relationship was more they hated working together, but outside are fine.

But it they offered Mahoney 2 years to start then 3 last minute, MA would have been 20-21 at the end of that deal.

The talk was very strong that Parra saw "A young development Hooker" as the future as the reason for not going all in with Mahoney. Matt was the one.

    • Parra boy let's not forget when Norman and Moses were at each others throats and playing shit. R&R gave them both the choice to leave. Here below is an excerpt from AI that i asked.  so take it however you want re AI product, but R&R has been a problem for a while. Fancy telling Moses he can leave. Gulp! For the record Mark O'Neill joined the club in R&R in 2018.

Following the Parramatta Eels' disastrous 2018 NRL season, where they finished with the wooden spoon, management determined that the halves partnership of Corey Norman and Mitchell Moses was not working and that one of them had to leave

Here are the key details regarding the situation:
      • The "One Must Go" Directive: After a 0-5 start and a poor overall season in 2018, it became apparent the duo "just didn't work on the field". Club management decided to split the pair to change the team's dynamics.
      • The Targets: While many assumed Corey Norman would be the one to leave, the Eels also told Mitchell Moses that he was free to explore his options elsewhere, despite having joined the club only the year prior.
      • The Outcome: Corey Norman was ultimately released from the final year of his contract and joined the St George Illawarra Dragons for the 2019 season.
      • Moses' Reaction: Moses later revealed it was "heartbreaking" and "upsetting" to be told he could leave, but he ultimately remained at the club to lead the team in 2019
      • I remember that. It was a massive discussion of who should we keep.

The mass public all said Norman, I said Moses due to simply loving the game more he would work on his game. Norman was good but bit laid back.

  • Dodged a bullet there. The last thing we need is to spend 800k for 3-4 years on an ageing forward.

Mind you, we are never going to get an instant Premiership without a sombrero. Those who think otherwise are fooling themselves. The reality is that we need to build excellence from the ground up, using our juniors. Once we start winning consistently we will attract the star players.
