Badboys-give a chance

I think after Todd Carney showing in winning the dally m award what a different atmosphere and time has on a person and player. we were all very quick to jump on and hate the possible return of our prodical son T Smith. The roosters gave carney a lifeline after drunken incidents, he has been off the drink and with help from new players and a coach that believes hes playing his best footy of his career.
I think next time before we jump on the wagon and hate the return we think of carneys return.

Their are alot of incidents that have happened in league which we dont agree on but some get given a 2nd chance and learn and some dont. Greg bird was a coward in what he did to his girlfriend and to me that is alot worse than some drunken days, but that is all in the past and the titans have given him a 2nd chance he has moved on and is playing great footy, If you dont remember Anthony Laffranchi had been in trouble over a rape incident and it has all been forgotten, nate myles and his hotel incident the list goes on.
so i think before we make alot of criticism about a young player such as T smith we look at other or worse situations that have happened in the nrl and look at how carney has turned his life and footy career around.

  • Good call.... Maybe time to resurrect Tim Smith, has stayed out of trouble since joining sharks..
  • It's evident that Timmy Smith has struggled slightly since his return to the foray of regular first-grade action, and he definitely isn't the player he was in his rookie year with us.
Having said that, he's shown enough at times to at least be looked at by Eels officials.
If we get him back, I wouldn't be too displeased.

I also agree WS that players deserve a second chance to show what they're made of.
  • Timmy would do well in the current scheme of things, he couldn't do any worse
  • I agree giving Timmy a second chance would be backed by me. Given better playing staff around him could see him start to get back to the form we know he has. We have give maitua a lifeline why not Timmy. I say to the board, ozzy etc bring back Timmy
