In a way, I'm kind of glad todays horror show happened. All week I was asking people on here do our players need to be psychologically evaluated both as individuals and as a team after we had lost our last 3 second halves after leading at halftime against the storm & cowboys in the finals, and panthers in round 1.
Then today, shortly before kickoff, I came on here and said "even if we managed to scrape away with the 2 points today, it doesn't mean that we've addressed our mental deficiencies".
I sure as hell am glad this has happened in the opening 2 weeks rather than the last 2 weeks or even in the finals again.
We can do 1 of 2 things now. Give up, rollover & die, or see this as a blessing in disguise and use it to our advantage by not only addressing our ball control & our ill-discipline , but also learn from the teams who's tactics have proven successful so far.
We can pick out the best bits here & there that we think will best suit our players.
Bringing Kaysa in at hooker (at the very least off the bench) will go a long way to fixing our line speed.For example; The Tigers have beaten the defending premiers & the roosters by simply making it their mission to have the fastest defensive line speed with the aim of frustrating & suffocating their opponents attack with their in-your-face style defence.
I'm glad today happened because I felt they got off too easily last week. Coreys comments & his attitude in regards to Brad Arthur's spray last week is an indication of this. Everyone was saying "It's only round 1 etc". But that doesn't excuse their performance and it certainly didn't fix our problems.
We can continue saying "It's only round 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, but until all our players problems are dealt with & rectified, our team will continue to embarrass themselves, our club, and our supporters.
