BA and media gone missing

1. Moses tapped the ball back on the 20 m line, the ball landed behind the 20 m line, yet this was rulled a knock-on!!!

2. Blatant forward pass infront of the touch judge for Raider's try not called!!!

3. Rapana punches Sivo in the face. Unprovoked after another unprovoked strike. Reviewed by video ref and ignored. What happened to throw a punch being an automatic send off!!!

Where are the reporters?

Parra players are doing their bit, the coach must do his.

The forward pass referee wrong calls happened because BA did not stand up for his players after the Manly game. As previously blogged the Manly game had a number of refereeing errors that balanced out. Manly only got back in the game because of bad calls. BA should have pointed out loud and clear that the Manly "forward pass" clearly travelled forward and it has been standard practice by the refs to call those as forwards- we had one against us the previous week, and pointed out the clear ref blunders in Manly's favour that let them back in the game.

BA needs to control public-media perception or his players will not get a fair deal. This was seen last night - refs were too scared to call the oppositions forward pass (happened right in front of touch judge) and were so biased they thought Moses's tap back was forward even though Klein was in perfect position. Correct refereeing should have seen six less for raiders and six more for us plus Rapana sent off.

I don't believe the refs are deliberately against us. They are human and if BA lets the narrative go extreme against us then this is what happens. Media are judge and jury and we need BA to present our case or we will not get a fair deal.

  • We won, we're top of the table. Sometimes we get the rub of the green (eg Manly game), sometimes we won't. BA needs to focus on the things he can control to keep us winning.

    • Well said Captain

    • No we never get the rub of the green but yes despite this, we are top of the table.

      • Well the sivo try came off the back of a contentious call re the 6 again/charge down.

We literally got out of jail against manly because of a ref/touchie blunder

So id say we have had some luck

    • Captain there was one for each team in the manly game as walker dropped the ball over the line and was awarded the try I can't think of a game so far we've had the rub of the green

  • BA has no balls and until he grows some and cops a $10K fine we will keep on copping the shit calls. This all stems back to the semi final against Storm where they won the game off a similar blatant forward pass. He said nothing then either! As long as BA keeps on accepting incompetence we will keep being refereed incompetently.

  • Some weeks you cop sone bad calls, some weeks you get some good calls.

BA would rather see the team win despite a few shitty calls and focus on how they over came that instead of whinging

its footy - always has been and always will be

I think it's better to not look like a whinget when you need good rapport with refs

No use going out of your way to be critical after a great backs to the wall win IMO

      • Nup I’m with ya Wiley , BA needs to have a spray , never does and we get walked over . It’s worth the investment IMO

        • Yes - all the successful coaches manage the media/public narrative. It is strategic not just venting their anger.
