However where there is hope and a chance do not give up.
Not some 1 eyed pipe dream but a serious look at the ladder and the draw.
last night after the game I like many others vented my frustrations and pointed out who in our team is not up to it and who I thought will never make it.
THAT IS WRONG! while understandable to do this let's leave it to the end of the season to make the big statements as to who should go and who is not up to it.
Ask yourself what has to happen for the Eels to make the 8:-
Look at the ladder and the draw:-
5 Teams are either there already or only need 1 win out of their last 4 - 5 games.
The first 5 teams in the 8 will be (not in order) Dragons, Roosters, Panthers, Titans, West Tigers, thats because with one more win 30 points is their total and the Eels have a -70 PD
The Eels need to take a finals spot away from either: Broncos, Sea Eagles, Warriors.
To make the 8 this is what we need:
1: We have to win all 4 games left and finnish on 30
2:Broncos must only win 1 more, they have: Eels, Knights away, Warriors away, Raiders so the critical game is the Knights away, because they most likely will beat raiders at home and we Have to beat them: Conclusion Unlikely that the Broncos will only win 1 so they probably will make it to 30
3:Sea eagles must only win 2 more games, they have:Storm;Dragons away;Warriors;Roosters away;Dogs. The critical games are Storm & Warriors because they will most likely beat the dogs at home and lose to Roosters away and Dragons Away (even though they do play well against the Dragons. If the Sea eagles lose one of those home games Storm, Warriors then they most likely finnish on 28: WE HAVE A CHANCE HERE.
4: Warriors must only win 2 more games, they have:Sharks away; Knights;Sea Eagles away; Broncos;Eels away. The critical games are their away games because they probably win their home games, so Sharks, Sea Eagles games are the ones to watch because the Eels will beat them at home in the last game. Conclusion 50 - 50 they could end up on 28 or 30.
I think our best chance is taking the spot in the 8 from the Manly Sea Eagles! And that would be the sweetest thing!
Once we are in the 8 it is a whole new comp!

We should still never give up hope though.
The Sea Eagles have looked a bit flat at times, so hopefully they can lose the majority of those games :P
VERY massive margins.
Just home after a great night out and dinner, didn't know the NRL results. Ok good question, I did not consider the Bunnies as any chance as they had 7 first graders out i thought they were gone for the year. Just checked NRl.com and see they have had a win over the Tigers and now lead us. So I am going to look at the draw for them now. However todays results are BAD for Eels as Manly won and Warriors beat the Eels reserve grade side. We can't cut a break at the moment, bugger its just not falling our way.
Ok Bunnies have Storm away; Panthers away; Eels At ANZ, St George away. So if the Eels do their part and win all their games and home teams generally win the Bunnies are finishing on 24 points and out of it.
