  • He's right. This kid will be a star. In fact, I'm really excited about all our young and up and coming forwards. I think Scott coming to the club next year will be great for us.
    Good times ahead, hopefully.

    • So glad a genuine , hard working talented guy is in our pack :-) you will shine Alvaro
  • Lets not talk the kid up too much like we do all juniors, im just hoping he can become a quality first grader let alone star, he looks good but way to early to be calling him a future star imo, Tims very very well known for going off early in the pre season, in fact i dont think Tim has ever got one pre season call right, if i was him id be telling Timmy to stfu.

  • I remember Tim saying the exact same thing about Pat O'Hanlon and Mitch Allgood.

  • I wouldn't say "star", but more a decent first grader who might play a bit of City/Country but never higher than that. Would be happy to be wrong but he has made his debut later than most at age 22. I've liked what I've seen but a long way to go yet before he is a star. IMO Junior Paulo can become a star, he has the size, footwork and ball skills and could easily become a Kasiano 2.0 who is better. Alvaro for mine is in the Wicks and Mannah mould, very solid but not spectacular.

  • I thought BA managed Álvaro really well gradually giving him more time in the top grade towards the end of the season and he will be hell bent on getting a spot early 2016.
  • He's better than most of the overhyped islander boys, he may not be as imposing but his heart is way bigger.
  • It's time for guys like Pauli and Tepai to set the competition alight next season or move on.
    • You're kidding about Tepai. He played busted all this season, and beyond some defensive lapses was solid.

Will be fantastic to see him injury free net year.

Pauli, well as soon as he realises his potential he could be anything.

    • Are you serious? Tep could have still played 20's this year and you would have probably been one of the ones crying if we didn't play him in first grade and how we'll lose him. He played a full year of first grade while busted, that shows his character and toughness and for a 19 year old kid to play like that shows he has a lot of heart and determination. Next year he'll have less pressure to perform, coming off the bench will mean he doesn't play a full match like he did this season and we won't have Sandow so he won't be covering 2 spots but can rather focus on his own game.

Alvaro was given almost 2 full years in NSW cup before he debuted. He had time on his side to work on things and he's now being considered a starting 17 player by a few people. Tep has one "poor" season while playing busted as a 19 year old and you want him gone? Maybe re-think that one?

As for Pauli he's also another one we had to play early. It's obvious to everyone that he isn't ready for consistent first grade but how many 21 year olds are? Only the elite players in the game play regular first grade at that age and the solid first grade players begin to push through between 21-22. Can't forget that Pauli also sat out a few weeks with a leg injury which would have set him back a little bit.
