"Agree LB, both.
And to Coryns point, to win in Melbourne, you need to be perfect - and you need to be given a fair chance.
We've seen it too many times, if the Storm are allowed a different playing field, they will destroy you.
Haha that's still…"

"Great points as usual NOS. When you lose by 48 points that is on you. But also, the issues from the refs made us fatigue and weakened us. The Iongi HIA weakened us as it forced Ryles to put Joash on when in hindsight he didn't really need to, but we…"

What is said on this site should have absolutely nothing to do with what happens on the field. If players are not playing with heart because of what's said here then they have a real problem. There are probably members here that are not even eels fans at all and just come to stir the pot. How about we just become members of other teams forums and abuse that team if it means it will effect their on field performances. As for being abused by other members just try to remember these are only words on a monitor. They are not going to jump out and slap you in the face. Make a comment and ignore replies you don't like.
BB do you want a violin to go with that?
but moreso those who take it another level... It's just a blog people :)
hahaha. Isnt Ozkan dead?
Hi Beer Baron, this is a fair question and it's one I've at times struggled with and it's one that I have at time fought to the death to defend. Now I'm going to go back a little, and some of this may be self-indulgent but bear with me.
I trained and worked as a journalist. As a young journalist, you have objectivity smashed into you at every turn. I decided to write a blog that went against that. That covered Parramatta from a supporter's view, that was optimistic and "one eyed".
Eventually, I decided to convert my little blog into a space for all Eels fans to write their opinions. And I quickly discovered that not all Eels fans felt like me. At the end of a loss, other supporters weren't finding the positives I were. Other supporters were far-less forgiving on players than I was. Other supporters got far more depressed than I did after I lost.
And it took me quite a while, and I there were plenty of times I almost decided to shut this site down, to come to terms with that. I had relatives of players telling me how awful the site was. I had board members telling me how awful the site was. Except, every month the site kept growing and growing.
And eventually, I came to realise that this is sport. That the passion that sport engenders promotes extreme reactions. That sport is one of the few things in life that lifts people above the tedium of every day life and that it doesn't matter if you are rich or poor, what your race is or whatever. At the end of the day, every person who comes to this site has an extreme passion for the Eels.
That's what brings us together. But beyond that we disagree. We think each other are stupid and can't see the truth. We disagree with the coach. We disagree with the executive. But in the end we all just want our team to be better. And you know what, we like to disagree. Because if everyone agreed, we would all get very, very bored of saying. +1 after every comment.
You can go to any team forum, in any sport, in any place in the world, and it's exactly the same.
So to get back to your initial question. Their are a number of people who aren't in line with the rest of us. Mostly their people who wanted jobs at the club and didn't get one, Or their people who fell off the gravy train. I hope those people will now choose to put the club first.
But from my observation, the team within the club are actually really united and working towards a common cause. And that's the most important thing.
