Hoping for what? If another Wooden Spoon can create major changes and transformation within the club so that it finally becomes the powerhouse team it should be then yes, I'm a for it! It's no use pretending and fancifully hoping and throwing all the positive thinking mentality that no matter where the Eels sit on the ladder, no matter how bad their defensive structures are that 'she'll be right' Aussie cultural thing because it won't. All the fairy floss won't make things better until something serious and constructive is done and speaking up is a good place to start.
It depends how much this temporary injury crisis impacts the team morale and belief over the next 10 weeks. Our Injuries are the reason why we're losing, as much as we don't want to rely on excuses, it's having a direct impact on our performances. We can turn it around once we get a bit of talent back into our team.
Dragons don't have the excuse of an injury crisis, they have a talent problem in their first grade squad and their coach isn't helping them and is almost more of a detriment to them.
I am confident once we get back a couple of key players we will start winning again around Origin and hopefully come home at the back end of the season. I wouldn't be surprised if our For/Against is a contributing reason for us not making the 8.
Injuries are definitely the major cause of the Eels slump and position but that's not the only thing. Even before these injuries started this year the team didn't look anything like the team at the end of last year. The teams physical fitness and mental toughness and defence is deplorable in my opinion

We have zero outside back reserves coming through who could save us. Joash is too flippant in attack and is careless about possession. Araz is raw and a defensive liability. Volkman shouldn't be 5/8, Richard Penasini very injury prone.
Add to that our forwards are being badly beaten in every match even with a full-strength squad.

In my opinion we are going to get the spoon, and the only saving grace is if we made some $$ from it. Our injury ward is spilling with players. Its just going to be too much for Ryles to contend with.
Ive never bet or thought about betting on us to get the spoon, but the circumstances atm, its going to.be very tough to avoid it
If this team loses by 40+ or 50 or even 60, i think its time that they sack the GM and start making phone calls to Gus, Shane or anyone that has ball knowledge.
