Are the Dragons saving us from wooden spoon?

I have seen our upcoming schedule cannot see us win next 8 weeks . Hoping that Dragons can remain bad save us from wooden spoon. Just the injuries are too much to handle . Guess FIFA world cup be on even not soccer fan have something to watch other then eels getting pumped every week m

Dogs - probably won't watch will get ugly

Manly - in form at home we have no chance

Warriors- actually haven't lost when Metcalf is out

Cowboys - may have a chance if we weren't all injured

Storm - played Melbourne twice in magic both times got destroyed can't see us winning

Knights - playing so much better than us despite missing Ponga brown

Dogs - just different levels unfortunately

Raiders - maybe if we weren't decimated

  • the saints are going to start winning at some stage, if they sack Flanagan they will have a bounce back win, then return to old habits.

if parra could win 2 - 3 games from the 8 above, it will help significantly.

there could be a few teams also affected by Origin, which could take key players out .

  • Manly have never beaten us without Turbo so that's some hope hahah.

But Newcastle we get most of our players back like Iongi, Kautoga and Samrani. Also, Newcastle are good but they are flimsy.

Every game you say no chance, what's the point then? Just pack it up and forfeit with that attitude. Nobody would have thought we beat Brisbane in Brisbane and we did. We likely won't win the same or more than we lose but will win more games, maybe even finish strong again. Dragons are playing bad even with their full strength team. They are in games but not good enough to finish.

    • The problem, LB, is that the Broncos game appears to have been a fluke. Pezet got lucky with some kicks in that game, Tuilagi played his best possible game, and the Broncos left side fell apart.

Have we seen the Eels play for 80 mins? Not once. Ironically, Dragons are so bad they can't even fluke enough good passages of play to steal wins, so at least the Eels are above them!

      • Flukes happen and can happen again. There is never such a thing as 0% of winning, the same as 100% chance of winning no matter who you are versing.

  • It will take a huge effort to stop the Eels getting the Wooden Spoon this year. The Eels for and against is the worst in the league and will only get worse unless Ryles and Co can turn this around. Once the Dragons start getting a few wins which they will then it's all over. The Eels would have to hot favourites for the spoon

    • We are still scoring points. Most wooden spoon teams struggle to put points on the board. If we can fix defensive lapses and stupid penalties we will start winning games again. Forget about last weekend's game - clearly the players didn't show up for that game.

      • It's possible definitely but based on the current form especially of the Titans game, injury list, obvious fitness levels it's going to be a real struggle. Yes, the Eels are scoring points when they're really focused in on the match but they're letting in too many. The hole in the boat is letting more in than they're taking out. Unless Ryles and Co can fix the defensive and mental toughness and fitness holes it will definitely be wooden Spoon in 2025

      • You are right on your last part, the players didn't show up. Though what i will say to that is why not? I mean i think all of us if we didn't show up, as in turn up ready to go, in our jobs i doubt our bosses accept anything we say to excuse. Why should we just accept that had a bad day? They are professional footballers. They knew exactly who they are playing, when they are playing, what time they are playing. No reason to excuse not turning up when getting paid well. That is what bothers me the most.

        • I'm sure Ryles and the players won't be accepting the Titans game and all the reasons why we didn't show up as an excuse, but as fans we shouldn't dwell on that as clearly it's an abbaration. We have shown this year that we can go toe to toe with top teams, but our discipline and mental toughness is very inconsistent - in fact it has been for many years. Any team can have a bad day - even Melbourne have experienced that this year - but when the bad days become regular, that's a real problem. I'm sure the team knows this and is working on fixes.

    • You are hoping.
