Anyone else lose faith

I'm not talking about eels I'm talking about our stupid recruitiment and retention team.Like how can a group be so fcken stupid, surely we can petition to get em out of the club cause they fcken suck.Like you look at all the other clubs signing guns for good money then there's our stupid club who are "playing strategically "ITS NOT WORKING OUT FCK THE PLAYING STRATEGICALLY and go all out fmd.

Anytime I see eels connected to a player I instantly lose hope cause there's 0 chance of us even getting him even a reserve grade player we can chuck a mil at and they still won't come.Fck anyone here can do a better job then those idiots.

        • He played for Manly lower grades.

    • Meanwhile we have Matt Cameron who learn't his craft under Brian Smith at the Eels. The bloke has won 4 Premierships and been in 5 GF's, lives in the area and yet the Eels aren't interested in speaking with him. It just blows my mind. For those saying he'd never leave, of course he'd leave. Everyone has a price and I'd rather overspend on someone like Cameron than persist in being 'financially prudent' with less than mediocre results.

      • But according to poppa the ship has sailed for Cameron,  so we must stick with O'neill forever amen

      • There not talking to him because there not looking to improve the board they just aren't.They are sacred cows the lot of them add in MoN and that's us going foward till it isn't.

If Cameron were to come here whose firing Jim Sarintinos.Matt Beech the chairman would have to lead that and since he's the chairman he'd have to go behind JS back to recruit Cameron.I'd be all for it I'm with you because we want to be best in class across the board right now we aren't.Imagine Cameron and Peter O'SULLIVAN added to the footy side mate I'd wipe clean that R and R committee with 2 strikes on a piece of paper pretty much telling you the pen's mightier than the sword.

Dreams Mutts dreams wake up mate wake up 😂

It won't happen because when you have a Board full of bankers, they can only view the business with the same eyes they'd view a financial institution or any other commercial business.
Here's my impression of how the Board views the Eels current situation:

" In a dynamic and highly competitive landscape, the Board remains firmly focused on the broader performance ecosystem and long-term value creation.

While on-field outcomes continue to evolve as part of a multi-year high-performance journey, the organisation is delivering strongly where it matters most—across financial sustainability, commercial growth, and best-in-class governance. These pillars are providing a stable and scalable platform for future success.

Through disciplined execution, strategic alignment, and a commitment to operational excellence, the club is building a resilient, future-ready organisation. The Board is encouraged by the strength of these foundations and confident they will translate into sustained success over time."

          • The middle paragraph says a lot really. Does continued improvement in that area translate to longer term success on the field though?

            • I'm an ex banker, I would not piss on a modern day bank board, they would be the first to tell you they are not bankers......just lawyers and accountants and a couple of token women that pretended  to be once retailers.....that truly is how bad banking has become.

Your analogy is correct Mutts, there is no imagination or backing of intuition or someone borrowing for a business venture in an environment where human beings are not in charge of approvals, all computer and AI driven to give saftey measurements to board members.....they all should be wearing yellow jackets to single their saftey zone.

  • I no this is early and purely speculative on my part but if in 12 months nothings changed what do we do if Moses wants a release to try  win this thing elsewhere. There will definitely be a market for him.Would you be surprised if after nie 10 yrs at Parra he agitates for a release.

If that did happen that'll be the straw that breaks the camels back.

    • Moses is not the messiah Coryn, he needs 12 disciples and a couple of priests at a minimun.

PS Using Cappy's wild west vindication....maybe a couple of "witchdoctors" for a bit of dark arts!

  • One very underrated forward I wish we kept is Alex Twal. Very good motor and a defensive machine.
