Meanwhile we have Matt Cameron who learn't his craft under Brian Smith at the Eels. The bloke has won 4 Premierships and been in 5 GF's, lives in the area and yet the Eels aren't interested in speaking with him. It just blows my mind. For those saying he'd never leave, of course he'd leave. Everyone has a price and I'd rather overspend on someone like Cameron than persist in being 'financially prudent' with less than mediocre results.

It won't happen because when you have a Board full of bankers, they can only view the business with the same eyes they'd view a financial institution or any other commercial business.
Here's my impression of how the Board views the Eels current situation:

The middle paragraph says a lot really. Does continued improvement in that area translate to longer term success on the field though?
I'm an ex banker, I would not piss on a modern day bank board, they would be the first to tell you they are not bankers......just lawyers and accountants and a couple of token women that pretended to be once retailers.....that truly is how bad banking has become.
Your analogy is correct Mutts, there is no imagination or backing of intuition or someone borrowing for a business venture in an environment where human beings are not in charge of approvals, all computer and AI driven to give saftey measurements to board members.....they all should be wearing yellow jackets to single their saftey zone.
I no this is early and purely speculative on my part but if in 12 months nothings changed what do we do if Moses wants a release to try win this thing elsewhere.There will definitely be a market for him.Would you be surprised if after nie 10 yrs at Parra he agitates for a release.
