Does anyone else feel like a win/loss this weekend will dictate our season.

Personally, I think a win here would be massive. It would put us as 3-2 with a fairly soft draw. This would be a great result considering the teams we have versed, and would put us in the early finals picture

Conversely, I think a loss will be dire. I'm not too sure why to be honest, I just feel like it will put to sleep any finals run aspirations despite how early in the year it is.

    • More likely he is struggling to find the motivation to play behind such a pack of absolute plodders.

  • It is not make or break but if we get done and Gold Coast beat us, then perhaps.

  • I just don't know how our soft pack are going to contain the tigers monster pack. I think junior has to start at 13 and big sam to start. Teacum brown to the bench to.

  • We're already broken. Twice we've been lapped. We're just making up the numbers now. Finals would be a massive, massive achievement.
I hope we get there but since when has making the 8 been a massive achievement? I'm old enough to remember when winning the comp was the realistic goal.

  • No, it's round 4, no need for the early season dumps.

Last year we were 7-0, we lost against the Tigers and we thought we were done, Origin came around and we began to pick up some form and came home strong. This year we've had the hardest draw to start the season, and we're 4-2, yes, we have some defensive issues, but we are showing some good signs in attack, we've just have tough games against the best teams in the comp.

Tigers are playing well and are sadly not easy-beats this year, so this isn't like getting done against the wooden-spoon team as your blog suggests. This is a game where we need to see some defensive resolve and fortitude. I'm looking forward to it.

  • I reckon Eels will win by 10 points. Man of the Match Papali

  • Get where you are coming from for sure, and I know it's a cop-out, but honestly its how this game plays out - especially how we start - that is more important than the result for me.

There's been a lot of justification of our defence due to opposition, so the next few weeks can be a good indication of how far outside the 8 we sit - if thats our goal for the foreseeable future.

After Ryles presser last week, how we start this one should tell us all we need to know.

Looking forward to the game, could be some points in this one - great to see Joash get some time at FB too, deserves this.

  • I hope Guymer and Moretti come into the starting side with Tuilagi and Walker back to the bench.
