Allgood's Sinbinning

I was never really one who bought into the referees treating us so much differently but after seeing Allgood and Matai last night Im starting to wonder. Matai ran a good 20m to get up in Allgoods face and Allgood reacted. Not condoning fighting but its a physical sport and these things happen, as anyone whos played football can tell you. My major problem isn't that they have changed the rules is that once again, only OUR player gets sin binned. I thought the rule was anyone who throws a punch goes to the bin???? Are you telling me no manly player threw a punch?? I cant blame Allgood for having a go though as twice this season one of our players has been hit after a penalty's called and the refs say they cant reverse the decision, so after the whistle blew last night I think he thought what have I got to lose?

It didn't have any impact on who won but I do think the eels dropped their head after that and let through 2 tries in 5 minutes. Unfortunatley Allgood will probably get  3 - 4 weeks when other people like macguire and gallen get nothing or just 1 week.

  • AllGood just got in before the judiciary. McGuire hit him in an almost identical way earlier in the season and got nothing. So I guess Mitch decided he'd get in first this time.

  • if allgood gets anything more than a week (a la mcgure) then parra have to take this to the top of the nrl cause its a joke!

there is no fkn consistency or fairness meated out to the eels and i bet he gets heaps more time than those mentioned by mack! Im with ricky its bullsht!

  • Seeing as the swinging arm caused no harm to the Manly player it should have been play-on, just because there's intent doesn't mean it's a penalty if it misses then it doesn't matter, that's basically what Billy Harrigan said on another related incident with swinging arms. Allgood should have been sin-binned but so should have Matai, Allgood wouldn't have started throwing punches if Matai wasn't there so really Matai should have gotten more for being the third man in and exacerbating the situation.

    • ham - i would take it further to say that he was actually swinging for the ball as it actually popped out of beuhrers hands! the video is not conclusive that it was an attack on the man and in addition the referee was standing less than 2 metres from the incident, watched it, and didnt call any foul.....

It's all about cohesion, chaos and death zones.
Our defence sits dead last at round five. Our middle concedes the most tries of any team. 40 percent of our tries are leaked there.
