Jarryd Hayne chargedwith aggravated sexual assault
Nine hours after he handed himself in to police, Hayne was charged with sexually assaulting a woman in the Hunter region on NRL Grand Final night.

Hayne has since been charged with aggravated sexual assault.

A police source hasconfirmed to the Heraldthat the young woman was at a home where she lived with her mother, when Hayne arrived in a taxi, allegedly intoxicated after a session of a drinking.

He left the home in the same taxi about 20 minutes later.

It is understood the taxi driver is now a witness in the case against Hayne, and has been spoken to by police.

The woman’s mother, who was home at the time, will also be a witness in the case

Police will allege Hayne arrived at the house to visit the woman before he sexually assaulted her, ripping off her clothes and biting her, drawing blood.

The woman sought medical treatment for her injuries at a hospital the following day.

Accompanied by his manager Wayne Beavis, the embattled rugby league star handed himself into police over the alleged sexual assault.

While Hayne spent 10 hours at Ryde police station on Monday night, a police source confirmed he is yet to make any comment or statement on the record to police, and has thus far “declined to be interviewed.”

Hayne finally emerged from the police station in the early hours of Tuesday morning, having been charged with aggravatedsexual assault by detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad.

It is understood the time Hayne spent at the policestation on Monday night was taken up by a lengthy bail determination consideration, withindependent police officers assessing his release.

The maximum penalty for the charge of aggravated assault is 20 years in jail.

Earlier this month, detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced aninvestigation into thealleged incident, after receiving reports a woman had been sexuallyassaulted by a man she met on social media.

A complaint about the incident was first made to the NRL Integrity Unit, before it was referred to the sex crimes squad.

Hayne has been granted strict conditional bail toappear at Burwood Local Court on Monday December 10.

It is the second sexual assault allegationlevelled at the rugby league player, who is currently fighting a civil lawsuit in the US relating to the allegedsexual assault of a woman in San Jose in December 2015.

    • Although they look it, those are not pepperonis Marky.

  • He’s got form . He bit a girl not known to him at The Roxy and was fined by the club a while back . She was just a random who was out celebrating her 18th with her boyfriend. He stalked her in the club and started playing with her hair , when she ignored his advances he bit her .

Total plonker as are his fanboys . Good riddance to a bad influence on the team .

    • LOL Is this legit?

    • I remember that. 2006 His rookie year right?

    • That's right. 2006? Even pre-fame Hayne was a dodgy sleaze.

  • After reading this it doesn't look good for him at all.

I think he might really be in some serious trouble. I notice all his fanboys are particularly quiet now

    • I was one but now shattered and was so wrong about him ,,,but was agreat playèr for us but a fuk wit off the field

    • The fan boys are all still hanging out at leagueunlimited.

  • At first I thought the Hayne Plane was too large for her hangar, but it seems Jarryd must have thought he was in church and having sexual communion , a bit of wine and "flesh of my flesh".Easy mistake. Could happen to anyone.
