BA and the club didn't mention absolute howlers from the ref last week with a ball bouncing on the in touch goal line called a drop out and a defenders arm on parra player before he touched the ball for a knock on missed despite 5 replays for a captains challenge. Not to mention how many captain challenges we win week in week out. It shows ref have no respect for parra or fear of making wrong call against us.
Complaining on ref errors wouldnt have changed the result but would have changed momentum and minimise the for and against damage.
Also by blowing up at these little things a good coach takes the focus off the players but also puts the pressure on the refs to give the team a couple soft call the following week. Judging how we played last week any little advantage including winning some 50/50calls this week could be the difference between us gaining momentum and restricting cowboys piling on the points or the cowboys winning with a record winning margin. For and against will be vital in a close competition so it is a missed opportunity with 2 clear cut wrong decisions that could have been highlighted and proven with simple screen shot, in a week when refs are a major topic of conversation in the media. It is no coincidence that the soft ref calls went to the raiders who have Stuart who often blows up at refs if they win lose or draw. Don't forget it was a female ref in the bunker and women are more emotional then men. They also do not respond well to criticism so wouldn't be surprised to see more poor decisions in favour of the team expected to win and are leading.

This week was not the time to blow. The Panthers game and the non sin binning of Luai was the game to let rip. I also think it should be our CEO giving the NRL a clip not BA. We definitely need some more influence in the media and it might be as simple as coddling up to someone like Paul Kent, feeding him some stories etc etc. look at how defensive Kent gets of Ricky Stuart
I disagree as it is good time to blow up. The media are all over the refs this week and some of Bennetts biggest media blow ups are after a loss to divert attention from under pressure players. Look at Robbo from Roosters this week. Blew up about Young send off despite nearly everyone knowing it deserved a send off. He blew up about Radley which proved correct with match review committee despite the loss to the bulldogs and I won't be surprised to see a future sinbin opportunity to be missed by refs and bunker afraid of making a wrong decision. No one is talking about the roosters conceding 20 points prior to the send off of Young to a poor Bulldogs side either.
Our CEO cmon Angry Eel did you hear him on sports breakfast today ....unispiring....and further he wouldnt have the stones to go up against the NRL in any capacity......I agree though Luai not only got awau scott free he could very well of broke Mitchells foot ....
I think it was Luai that injured Moses as well as put Simmonson out for 2 weeks
The Penrith was disgraceful refereeing and Eels could have won that game except for the refereeing
Using the ref as an excuse for why we lost that game is a straight up cop out. I dont care how many bad decisions the ref made, we were completely outplayed in every aspect. When that happens you tend to get the calls go your way.
Plus, we're getting in the habit of letting the ref bail us out of tough moments. We need to focus on winning those moments not throwing our hands in the air.
Never used ref as an excuse but ref calls definitely affected our for and against. We are guaranteed bad calls over next few weeks as we play top teams and we are expected to lose, so refs will make decisions to support the expected results .We need to minimize the damage to our for and against while Moses is out to be any chance of scraping into the 8. I would prefer we scrape into the finals over missing the 8.
