Couldn't believe that we let him go at the time, and still can't believe it now.
That's 3 guys we let go of in the space of 12 months who have immediately got into first grade at their new clubs.
Fuimaono at souths, plus Josh Aloiai and Alex Twal at the tigers.
I'm pretty sure both Twal & Fuimaono played for the jnr kangaroos previously.
I can't believe that in this day and age we are still giving "jobs for the boys" to keep their younger brother happy etc. Frank Pritchard is one example.
Well BA does seem obsessed with hanging onto aging players like Mannah, Matagi, Vave, and Pritchard. Twal would be better than any of these. BA's made a number of selection and signing blunders now. It's getting to the point it could backfire big time.
Why put the time, effort, money, and other recourses into developing those players if we're not going to fight tooth and nail to retain them? Why let other clubs benefit from our efforts?
I really believed those days were over. I know people will say "Oh well, we can't keep them all", but come on, these are common sense decisions. We did the exact same thing with Moimoi, Hindmarsh, Cayless, and Burt.
Other clubs, the smart clubs, the successful clubs, they don't muck around. They'll drop club favourites in a heart beat in exchange for the next big thing. They always look to STRENGTHEN their rosters while we look to keep our roster happy by signing a brother of one of our existing players.
Which decision is smarter here? Sign the next big thing from another club or retain one from our own ranks, or keep 2 INJURY MAGNETS brothers?
You have to factor in price as well. Not just now but in a couple more years. We can't keep everybody, and we don't know the full situation. I'd like to think we are keeping those with the best value for the club however.
BA has now let Twal go, playing well for tigers and Leb team, Materson who has held a place in rooster side, Fuimaono who holds a spot in souths and Aloaia at tigers. Shows he can spot talent letting these 4 go and kept re signing Kaysa and the great Joesph Paulo 2 players everyone on here said were crap and he kept perservering with. And Toupo (sorry about the spelling) for Rooters as well.
Twal leaving had nothing to do with Moses. He has been awesome in his appearances for Tigers. Moses was tanking and tantruming at Tigers and playing NRL. Twal wasn't.
"Also their short passing through the middle, as to why they bought de Belin to facilitate that, collapsing the ruck with quick movement causing the defence to fatigue and move with the momentum it's nice to see Brown and Wisemental's structure with…"
"Loved the impact of the first man in, though second man was purposeful in stopping offload or getting them to the ground. But also, Kautoga did this a lot, rush up slightly on ball carrying arm side limiting the space causing the runner to…"
"Yeah he shanked a kick last week but nailed one last night. He is a confident player and goes back to the well to try things he stuffed up previously and improves.
TDS can look hesitant at times and that is confidence and that will come in time. He…"
"Confidence Coryn, JAC was a contributor to that. The years before that Russell gave 110% but always looked that he was barely hanging on in terms of speed and physicality of the game. Now he is taking risks like taking on Fullback last week, chip…"

He'll be twice as good as Alvaro.

Brad thinks Tim had more potential and was more valuable than both.
I was never a Twal fan but i cant see how one would let him go and keep a dope like mannah.
