I was totally shocked when I recently found out that a young Rugby League player that I know personally has been left with no other option than to retire from the game that he loves. The player I am talking about is under 25 years old, he has played rep footy and has played over 40 first grade games. The reason for his retirement is mental health, anxiety and panic attacks in particular. He would suffer these things whilst on the field causing blurred vision, feeling dizzy, light-headed and a racing heart. The only medication that helps him is banned by ASADA.

Whats the medication slippery?
I'm not sure what medication he needs.
Contact Clint Newton Players Association for advice. He is suffering from a society issue and not performance enhancement issue. Only gets one career and if he has played 40 NRL games he clearly has the game and ability. The data suggests that the people with his conditions are highly likely to self harm. You sound like a great mate, look after him and support him.
Mental illness is huge in this country. More than we can imagine.

ASADA can grant a Therapeutic Use Exemption for medication needed to simply survive. I believe Jack Bird has one for his arthritis medication.
Spot on Brett, they even mentioned that the players tested were all showing signs of mental health issues, unless they test 100% of players the real figure will not be known.
