Dear Members and Supporters,

Yesterday the Administrator of the Parramatta Leagues Club (PLC) Max Donnelly, announced that all his proposed governance reforms have now been successfully passed following the support of over 90 per cent of PLC voters.

The successful adoption of these proposed governance reforms including the appointment of a new PLC Board will now see a guaranteed pathway towards returning the Leagues Club back to Membership control.

This is tremendous news for both PLC and the Parramatta Eels Rugby League Club and now means the constitutional reform process for both organisations has been successfully completed.

On behalf of the Football Club I want to sincerely thank all Members and supporters who voted. Postal and electronic voting in this latest round was a resounding success with 1,691 votes cast, of which 1,554 voted in favour of the reforms.

This shows that the vast majority of Football and Leagues Club members are united in wanting see both organisations move forward successfully with a strong commitment to good governance.

As I have said previously, the stability of the PLC Board is vitally important to the Football Club and as we continue to make progress it is important that we support the Leagues Club in all areas as they embark on a new era of stability.

Again I thank all Members and supporters for their commitment to see the process successfully completed.

Regards
Sean McElduff
Parramatta Eels Chairman

    • Well said

    • Yep Tad, it's always that little splinter that causes the most pain.

    • Now to watch out, one way or another, that there is no way forward in privatising our community owned club. There is a massive difference between choice and true freedom.

      • It's actually in the new constitution. The club can never be privatised

        • Unless of course the Leagues Club members vote to sell it

          • They'd have to change the constitution again to do that.

      • Chocy, I think privatisation would be a very distant & unlikely possibility with the setup of the constitution. At least in our generation. We'd need to witness the Titanic sinking first - and we didn't sink in all our darkest days. As long as the LC is making money and solvent. But, dark days will come again.

  • I've heard the factions aren't happy and are really having a tantrum over the flogging they copped

    • Hey not cool, that's not fair to monkeys, lol !!!!

    • Kamerica: I like the picture--not monkeys by the way. The current situation is now straight out of The Planet Of The Apes! Who is going to play Charlton Heston at the next General Meeting and scatter them back to the trees? Any volunteers?
