A Feel Good Story

I’d like to share an unreported feel good story involving the Parramatta Eels. I was asked not to share this story, after reading DR WONG.MD BSA AGG blog I thought a positive story about our players is timely.

Back in May 27^th 2014 the Parramatta Eels were having lunch at Parramatta Westfield’s when a thief wearing a Bulldogs Jersey bag snatched an elderly lady. The lady gave chase but it was clear the thief was too young and too fast.

William Hopoate, being a top bloke was the first to get up and proceeded to chase the thief, William couldn't get past the elderly lady let alone catch the thief, she had him covered.

Willie Tonga sprung out of his chair however pulled a hamstring, tore his ACL and bicep within two strides.

Joseph Paulo decided it was up to him to save the day, he bolted out of his chair and started running sideways, he zig zagged from side to side and somehow found his way back to the table looking confused.

Mossop jumped out of his chair and was making ground on the thief when he suddenly ran into a medical centre never to be seen again that day. The Parramatta Eels received an invoice for a shoulder reconstruction the following day.

Brad Arthur looked at Ryan Morgan and gave him the nod, Ryan took off and from a distance it was clear he was making ground on the thief.

Ryan came back a few minutes later looking satisfied; Brad asked him “did you catch the low life?” Ryan said “sure did coach” where’s the bag? Asked Brad, “crap, I dropped it on the way back” said Ryan.

Hayne shook his head and ran off; he found the dropped bag and returned it to the elderly lady.

The lady was so grateful she rewarded Hayne with a packet of chips which he ate watching the Eels getting hammered by Penrith in round 12.

How do I know this story is true? The elderly lady is my mum.

"This is a signing we need. Russell is only here for this year. Penisini out for extended period of time. Sign him now. Bronson can play both sides of the field, put him next to fox and that is a leathal edge. Hope we throw our hat in the ring."

"Is he that good? Depends how much he's worth I guess. With Russel leaving he could be a good replacement. But Russel seems to be having a break out season so far. How much do we think he's worth? "
