Nothing to complain about in that draw
Exactly, no excuses for club legend and head coach Brad Arthur.
Great to see him have the hardest ten weeks possible to start the season off.
Can only hope this dope is gone come Round 5.
Good luck boys.....let’s go parra
I assumed the NRL would stack home games towards the end so that we could get maximum use of WSS - wishful thinking for the incompetent mob.
Only other thing is we have to pray that we don't have 2 games in 40 degree heat the spoil the start of our season again. Bit rich that the NRL even mention their spiel how our season was derailed by that in 2018, but do it again to us in 2019.
No we weren't, but, were we the only team to play the first two weeks running in the blazing sun combined with the 38/40 (NB temp in middle of park in full sun is likely 55+) degree heat?
I don't run the 'others had to do it' argument due to the fact heat and sun effects people (even elite athletes) very differently person to person. These effects can be outwardly neglible but when it comes to performance in sport (or at work) output is severely impacted including mental cognity and physical endurance/strength etc.
Looking back on this years draw Parra were only team to play rounds 1 & 2 in the hottest part of the day under full sun. So whilst the equal for both teams holds some sway in Round 1 against Penrith, Manly played on the Friday in Newcastle at 6pm in Round 1 so had a bit of respite and an extra day and a bit recovery.
Did this effect our entire year? - I'll leave that to people more qualified than me to decide.
