2010 Review

2009 Great Effort, 2010 very disappointing. In my opinion Parra had the cattle to win this year. I said that before a ball was kicked tis year. What a wonderful platform to build on from last year. The excitement with Tahoo coming back. What a year to look forward to. What happened? Same old same old. This has happened before. Why. Not enough hard work. Players have got to get into the trenches like the diggers did at Golipoli.Watch N.Hindmash an D.Burt go. It needs their mentality through the team. Play eighty minutes, get down and get dirty. If you play your guts out for eighty mins and get beat so be it, respect, harmony will come. Too much this year of switching off and switching on late in the game. Like him or loath him, Wayne Bennett coached sides don't do that. They play for eighty minutes. Not a hard fix. Lastly, put the faith back in DMortimer before next year, play him at six through thick and thin, leave him there. Get Sterlo to take him under his wing.

If someone is smart enough to run with this, please remember ALangers short grubber kick, barely went 2 feet. Get DM to adopt same tactic, how good was Langer? Mortimer is about the same height, "short" to the ground, thats why that tactic worked well for him. Something for next year.

  • hi peter love your thoughts buddy thanks, very well said
  • They don't make em like they used to!
  • Welcome to the site Dolphin Blue. I was heartened by that grubber Morts put through to Cayless - haven't seen anything like that all year. I think that grubber kick was the single biggest thing missing from our game this year - if you do it well you either get repeat sets or tries - what's not to love. If either Kris or Dan had of had that in their kitbag this year, we'd have had a different season.

It needs to be THE PRIORITY for all our halves in the off-season.
  • teach him peter your hes dad, morts is a great player, badly coached..
he proved saturday night he can grubber kick to cayless .
there's a lot to go down at the eels in the next few months, can i ask one eyed eels, if daniel anderson did not want mateo and inu
kk , why did he play them in the last 6 games in the run home to the finals, why not blood some new players for next year.
why did he change the team around so much too, anderson gold plan for the eels future may be axed shortly if reports are right.
i think we have a good team, they sure can't play 80 mins ,and dont have real mongrel in them..
also a few are way over weight, mateo for one, inu lost hes pace too.
if i was running parra i would send all players away over seas on a big holiday with the board , coaches, rocket reddy, ossie , trainers, stop thinking footie for a while, clean the minds and come back training refreshed to start training in december..
there soft, stale, confused, by then we may have a better idea who's the coach next year, and if we have orford..thank you..guys
  • Exactly the thing we need to work on is repeat sets and building pressure off those extra sets

Cleary and Yeo today too.
So if that's the thought process, Warriors deserve it too."
