I was thinking about these two years and the Canterbury Bulldogs and Melbourne Salary Cap scandals/rorts. I know I may be clutching at straws and taking a big leap, but why did the Roosters get the benefit of the Canterbury Bulldogs cheating and we didnt.
The bulldogs where far and away the best team in 2002 with only 3 matches lost in the regular season and then where deducted 37 points. I know the Roosters still had to get there to the GF but cmon the Warriors in the GF, they were never going to win that. Yet we get pumped by a cheating team and get diddly squat awarded, if not the premiership at least the cash. In the Olympics, all these eastern block drug cheats are getting their medals stripped and then awarded to the people who came in the 2nd 3rd etc.
Just my thoughts , I guess I must be in a 40 year dillerium, but I still think in 2009 we deserved better considering how we got to the GF. Yet the Roosters benefit and we get F all.
Anyway as always GO PARRA.

Absolutely clutching at straws we were rubbish in 02 and scrapped into the 8.
To many variables could you guarantee we win if Melbourne didn't play do we beat the broncos who lost the preliminary final?
Write list in 07 to the storm do we beat manly?
To many what ifs? That is the issue
The main difference is the timing of when both teams were caught. If storm were caught before the GF they would've been stripped of their points and pick up a spoon, just like the dogs.
It does nothing to award us the comp in retrospect. I was there in 09 and nothing will replace the feeling of leaving the stadium having been beaten.
Yep x2
Its a fair point, if the winner gets disqualified the runner up moves up. We were cheated out of a premiership by the Storm. They still have the rings and celebrate the win. We should have at least got the cash.
What happened in previous years is irrelevant. We lost to cheaters and got nothing.
it is what it is. but what irks me is ,that the storm still claim it as a win , and had a replica trophy made up and display it. too me thats the height of arrogance
