    This is a main reason i was hesitant on doing an all-time team as comparing older with newer is futile at times. It is same with racehorses, you cannot compared horses from older days as the training, conditions, health, care etc. is so different today than back then.

    If you had Ken Thornett the same today but with the technology, training, care etc, would he be better? Or the same? Or worse? Who knows. 

    Though i would not go against you Poppa as my dad loved Ken and Dick Thornett. Ken was the first superstar he looked up to with Parramatta.

    But if i do not do a survey then what other way can i actually do it where majority can be somewhat happy? Not possible. 

    But also Poppa, it is subjective and though i feel Andrew Johns is the greatest player i have ever seen play, particulalrly live, doesn't mean others will think so and there is no right or wrong answer. You can determine great to not so good players simply. But deciding who is the best out of 2 world class players? There is no 100% right answer.

    Interesting even the greatest of all Sterlo in his Eels of All time team in 2020 had Jarryd in the Team over Thornett and Brett Hodgson.

    How can you expect people to vote for a player they never seen play, you can't expect people to take the word of a few old codgers (I'm nearly one myself) who think everything from their day is better.

        I don't doubt that, things were better in the 70's-80's compared to now so I could imagine things wete better in the 1920's when you and popa were in your prime. 😃
