The Badger replied to Frankie Fong's discussion THE BUSH COACH WILL NEVER QUIT 🤣🤣
"I get why Arthur isn't quitting. I mean, who would unless they had something else lined up.
Buzz needs to ask O'Neill why we have ZERO first grade standard spine replacement options for injury cover."

John Boyle replied to Seraph's discussion Injuries and age - who makes the cut?
"Mate, he has been our best player over tha last few years in my opinion, I agree with that.
However, this season he isn't having that impact like he previously had.
If he is carrying an injury that would explain something but if not, he is…"

Electric Eel 2 replied to Seraph's discussion Injuries and age - who makes the cut?
"No offence intended EA, but there is a big difference between wanting and needing said players to step up to the next level and then actually doing it. That is one of our biggest issues, year after year we hear of so called next big things in our…"

Electric Eel 2 replied to Seraph's discussion Injuries and age - who makes the cut?
"You are absolutely kidding if you let RCG go. Just wow, what have you been watching for the last three years. He had one poor game last week and has been one of the driving forces in our pack . He has been a standout! "

HKF replied to Seraph's discussion Injuries and age - who makes the cut?
"Our roster isn't as run down as people are making out, they are in their comfort zone with BA as coach.
I new head coach will rejuvenate most of these players.
Lane is the biggest issue for me, anyone that has been following this site would know I…"

Seraph replied to Seraph's discussion Injuries and age - who makes the cut?
"I think Lomax to FB, Gutho to Centre with Talagi to Wing could be a strong side of the field. Gutho helps with defence while Blaize learns how to read the attacking line from him.
Bring in Moretti and Greig more and start cycling them through.

John Boyle replied to Seraph's discussion Injuries and age - who makes the cut?
"We can't keep everyone mate, we have ageing players and big decisions need to be made, he is on big money and not delivering this season.
Is it his age ? Is he struggling with the speed of the game ? Or are our backs that bad that he's having to…"

LB replied to LB's discussion If not Bennett, then who?
"That is my fear Seraph, the ol' approach of "Nobody better". I believe they could have made that decision now in that they know they wont sack BA. They will hope he has an OK run in middle part, we finish around 10th and we can argue Moses being out…"

John Boyle replied to Seraph's discussion Injuries and age - who makes the cut?
"I would let the following go of RCG, Matterson, Joe O and Makatoa.
Paulo has found his strength adding impact off the bench, issue is his high salary as he ages.
Cartwright off the bench as a utility for mine.
Lane is laterally a risk on the edge, I…"

LB replied to LB's discussion If not Bennett, then who?
"Souths sacking was definately player led, they were sick of the hard work he would put them through. Ben Te'o once spoke up about a boot camp they were on and how hard it was and fatigued they were, saying he wouldn't know as he wasn't doing it.…"

EA replied to Seraph's discussion Injuries and age - who makes the cut?
"In the outside backs. I think the lomax to fullback and Gutho to centre is something that will be seriously contemplated asap. Sivo needs to fuck off as we all know. Tago in cup has been great however he does lack a height and speed. In flegg…"

Injuries and age - who makes the cut?

We all know the roster is aging and lack of young talent coming through is a problem. Adding in the unbalanced salary cap sees us in the current situation we're in. Question is - given the age and injury toll, does anyone see any players being let go/medically retired in the near future?Given Gutho's ongoing knee issues, I wouldn't be too shocked if something like this was announced. But much like what the Rorters are doing, it potentially frees up cap space to chance new players - although…

If not Bennett, then who?

So while i lay around not feeling well on a cold and wet Sunday, i thought if not Bennett than who would be the right person to take us forward? Many would say "Anyone" and that would be a very reactionary decision based on the hatred of the current establishment. When the decision comes, and i believe it will at some point in 2024, to move on from BA the club need to figure two things. 1) What type of style do they want to install that we play? 2) With this squad do we go all in or do we…

Scam watch Blog

Just thought I would put this up considering over a Billion Dollars were scammed last year from Australians last year.My daughter recently came across a post somewhere offering a smeg appliance to the first 10 or so people for $2  and you could also win a nice prize as well. It was very sophisticated in its approach with a number of emails and she was told she was lucky to win a prize. When they asked for her bank account details to deposit the prize she realised it was a scam.My wife also was…

Mike Mehall-Woods Article: Steve McNamara can save South Sydney, but if they appoint Bennett, Parra should swoop in.

Article about current Catalan Dragons coach Steve McNamara. He is doing a good job over in South of France, but not sure about a coach who has only ever coached in Super League coming to the NRL for the first time. We have seen coaches go from assistants in Australia to HC in Super League then come back. But not sure on a coach with only ESL experience. Here is a link to the article by Mike Mehall Wood     Coaching jobs in the NRL don’t get much bigger than South Sydney. Jason Demetriou, sacked…

Canberra won, what now?

We have heard it, we have thought it, we have said it, heck, even the club has said it to justify not sacking our coach. But there's no excuses now for having players out.Canberra were missing their halfback, fullback and three forwards that would all make their 17, but still won. They went all the way from Canberra to Manly and found a way.Let's not forget manly went into the game with only one injury and it being a player that isn't exactly guaranteed a spot every week. Obviously an absolute…

NRL admits bunker got it wrong on roosters obstruction call

Graham Annesley has conceded a controversial obstruction call that cost Roosters star Joey Manu a fair try against the Panthers was wrong. The NRL head of football has wasted no time conceding that video referee Chris Butler failed to use the necessary level of discretion in incorrectly deeming that Panthers fullback Dylan Edwards was obstructed from defending the no-try due to a collision with Roosters decoy runner Jared Waerea-Hargreaves. The alleged obstruction from Waerea-Hargreaves on…

Nuclear Power a Balanced View

I previously wrote a blog on the subject of nuclear power.Professor Daz basically took my comments apart and justifiably so as I had nowhere near the knowledge or research capacity to lay a factual basis for the proliferation of nuclear power other than a view I privately held via an economist friend of mineI receive a lot of economic commentary and a newsletter I receive from another economist paints what I believe to be a more balanced view of the discussion. I say this because Daz pointed…
