I've just been informed of the Leagues Club ruling, regarding the disciplinary hearing.
I've been told that they are willing to hand me a suspended suspension on the grounds that:
1. I run an apology in regards to the Puppet image that Jamesy posted for a period of six months
2. I vigilantly monitor the content of the website, and remove any content that is derogatory towards the directors.
If I fail to do either the suspension comes in to effect.
I'm furious. I simply can't accept these conditions, as from the very start that I decided to get involved with the political side of things I vowed it wouldn't impact this website. As a journalist and media owner, you might expect that I'm incredibly passionate about freedom of speech and this would go against everything I believe in. When someone can't even express an opinion via a satirical cartoon, it's time to stand up and take a stand. So I'll be telling the club that I can't accept their terms and following through my legal options to take this to the supreme court.
On the back of the board's intent to strip Denis Fitzgerald of his life member, I've never seen such abuse of power from any board at any time in my entire life.
This is not Roy Spagnolo's club. It is the club belonging to every Parramatta Eels supporter and member. This has to stop. The board are the guardians of the club, they are not dictators who decide who can join and who can't.
Naturally, I'll be posting more. In the meantime, please don't post anything defamatory.

Can't we all just get along.....seriously. We all have a common interest, a bond even, I see eels supporters as my brother and sisters and to hear things like this is really disappointing. How does this build the club into a family club.
I hope this decision is reconsidered without the unnecessary legal action and waste of hard earned on both sides.

Can I just say that everyone within the Football office has been extremely supportive. Ken Edwards met with me and tried to broker an informal meeting with Roy Spagnolo to sort through the issues. Spagnolo refused and demanded I be put through the disciplinary process, and this is obviously why.
Very poor form from the board, it's sad that this sort of thing happens when in reality we all want whats best for this club.
