IF JARRYD HAYNE asked for a release from the Eels, he would be within his rights given the way some of the players feel about him. And you could imagine a club like the Sydney Roosters would snap him up given their interest in a fullback for next season. Further to last week's column about the division in the Parramatta camp surrounding Hayne - the Eels' biggest star was the subject of some fierce comment at the team's crisis meeting during the week. The players made it very clear what they thought of Hayne. There appears to be some genuine ill feeling towards the NSW and Australian representative. Most of it relates to attitude - towards training and rehabilitation. Some players are completely over it. Word has reached the South Sydney camp that Parramatta's big off-season recruit, ex-Rabbitohs halfback Chris Sandow is not getting along with Hayne. There are definite divisions in the camp. This column suggested Hayne should be made captain to get the best out of him and the rest of the team - it turns out that the idea of making Hayne skipper was given consideration last season, but they stuck with Nathan Hindmarsh. The Eels will be looking for a new captain next year following Hindmarsh's decision to hang up the boots at season's end and the likes of Reni Maitua and Tim Mannah have leadership qualities. Hayne has the ability to be the player who Parramatta can rebuild their club around but he needs his teammates' support. While the Roosters would be interested in Hayne, they have not done a deal with Manly fullback Brett Stewart, which has been reported. This column heard the rumours they were interested - but I have been assured there is no way he will be at the club.

I think Danny thought we would lose last night. From what i saw we played as a team that got on very well.
Nice try Danny
3. I don't believe a word that comes out of that grubs mouth.
He like someone with Tourette's syndrome - he can't help slagging off at the Eels, it's part of who Danny is.
Even if a team wins he has something bad to say about us, last night it seemed everyone was happy with everyone and I tell you of hayne plays like that every week and the team does to he can act the way he wants
I thought the two were going to have to get a room at one stage.
Everyone thinks Danny is a joke in the media circles.
He writes this dirt sheet Wednesday.
Weilder, go break your ribs, lock your legs behind your head and suck on your tiny c0ck you grub.
LMAO well said HH
love it
I read that trash that Danny put together this morning in the Herald. It really annoyed me, after all the crap that we have been through the past 4 weeks in the press and on the field to finnally get a win and have Danny the clown take a big hot steamy dump on us just for good measure. It's offical Danny if you are reading this you have no form at all. Go and have a look at yourself in the mirror champ. Just in case your own ego clouds what you see in the mirror here is what most people think when of you and your Hot Scoops.
Is Danny Weidler the racist here?
Weidler keeps on about our Polynesian players and racism, so I am wondering is Weidler himself isn't secretly against Poly players in the NRL or is he just writing rubbish so he can sell himself as the 'inside man'? Note, yet again another murky watered semi-disclaimer at the bottom of his article that makes it appear he is pro-Polynesian.
Eels battle race divide
PERHAPS the most disappointing aspect of the Eels' terrible start to the season is the anti-Polynesian sentiment that is coming out of the club. Past players say the side is struggling because of the racial make-up of the team. None will put their name to this theory, which is dripping with racism. The line of ''thought'' is Polynesian players don't have the engine to play full games - that they are effective for 50 minutes. It's something that is whispered about and those in the know have heard the line. It's something that is very hard to justify as well - given that last season the Warriors made the grand final, Stephen Kearney took the Kiwis to victory in the 2008 World Cup and perhaps the best player in the NRL - Benji Marshall - is Polynesian.
