What's you opinion on Tallis on NRL360.
To me he's a waste of oxygen. He dosen't offer anything worthwhile. His contribution is mostly asking a question. Paul Kent used to annoy me but I think I prefer him to be in the seat.

Definitely better options, a Luke keary or Cooper Cronk would provide far better analysis
He is the biggest hypocrite there is. Says he wont turn his back on QLD "Will you coach?" "That's above my pay grade" Well wouldn't that be turning your back on QLD?
Or how he knocked Doueihi for sitting out for Wests, when he did so in 1995 with St. George. Or how about a few years ago he was defending Benji and said the Wests players should be on notice, we can't blame the coach for these things. Oh but if it is Madge it is his fault as he took his buddies job. Or how he says he is allowed to knock Brisbane and he has no issues with Brisbane yet knocked them even up to their premiership win.
Tallis is not very good, i am not sure why Keary hasn't been put on NRL 360. He would add an extra element. Kent i actually do like, podcast included, i wish he was still on there. I also wish Ginnane was hosting over Anasta who lately has done my head in.

What you are saying a bloke abusing a bloke for sitting out of a game, when he did the same thing for a whole season 20 years earlier, is mentally ill?

No amount of emotional documentary editing changes that he literally pioneered sitting out to force a club's hand.
To then sit on Fox League decades later and lecture modern players about duty is the definition of a double standard.
He said about Doueihi "I'm sure that there's a lot of players that didn't want to play in certain positions, but they did it for the blokes beside them... If you want to be a leader of that organisation, you play wherever the coach wants you to play."
Why didn't he do that for his blokes at Saints?
Tallis had signed a legally binding contract with the Brisbane Broncos and News Limited. From his perspective, breaking that new promise would have been just as dishonorable as walking away from St George.
Tallis did not try to get paid for doing nothing. He offered to buy out his contract to compensate St George. When they refused, he accepted the financial and professional penalty of sitting out for a year without pay. Sacrificing his principles was seen by many at the time as a sign of moral conviction rather than selfishness.
For you to sit in an Ivory Tower and judge him shows that you really did not know or understand the type of emotion that was prevalent during that period.
I would go as far as saying that Tallis had/has an enormous amount of moral integrity and to judge him on his views now in different circumstances basically negates the guy from even learning on your judgement.....pureile convictions on your part.
PS Just thought about that Tutty did it years before, Tallis wasn't the first. Your pioneering comment is therefore also wrong.
The emotion of the Super League era doesn't rewrite basic contract law or logic.
Playing for St George in 1996 was never a breach of his Brisbane deal. Running out for Saints in 1996 wouldn't have broken any deal with Brisbane because he wasn't a Brisbane player until 1997. Claiming it was dishonourable to fulfill a valid, current contract is pure spin, he simply didn't want to play for Saints anymore.
Your PS comment trying to pull a "gotcha" on Denis Tutty is completely dumb because you didn't even get my point right. I never claimed Tallis was the first player in history to sit out. I said he was hypocritical. So if you are going to say i wasn't right, at least be right in the accusation yourself.
Dragging Denis Tutty into this is a total straw man. Tutty took on the reserve rule in 1968 to fight for basic worker freedom against a system that bound players to clubs for life without contracts. Tallis sat out because he didn't want to fulfill a valid, fixed-term contract he voluntarily signed. Comparing a landmark test case for basic labor rights to forcing a club swap is a massive stretch. Offering Saints money to buy out his deal or forfeiting a year's wage doesn't change the outcome either, he still put his personal desire to leave above running out with his teammates.
No one is judging his playing career or taking away what he achieved on the footy field. But when he sits on NRL 360 lecturing modern players about "duty to your mates," "honouring the jersey," and "playing wherever the coach tells you," pointing out that he refused to do those exact things at St George isn't an ivory tower take.
Respecting someone's playing history doesn't mean we have to turn a blind eye when their media takes directly contradict their own actions
Well to some it up, you weren't there to judge on either issue and you said "pioneering" ie "pioneered sitting out to force a club's hand"
This discussion started out with different circumstances " i will stand by my view" because I saw it unwind in front of me. You saw fcuk all and were in no position to judge.Culture was also very different 30 years ago.
Its like arguing about players from different era's, if you didn't see both you cannot be a judge and your Tutty not being mentioned by you was not in the context of the circumstances. It was being the first to take on the system.....interesting point that you also did not recognise was there was a lot more integrity in a contract in those days, compared to the bullshit of today.
