  • Cannot see why not, but unfortunately the battling line looks as fragile as poppa's hips!lol it appears it could be a tough summer

    • Nothing wrong with my hips Mickey. It what hangs off them thats a bit wobbly!

  • In the absence of 'experts' in the field I'd think the batsmen at the top of the order need to book a bulk visit to a good shrink. The fog and uncertainty need to expelled so they can play once again assured. Only Travis, Marsh and Carey are currently mentally fit to play a role in the test team. India has a dynamic bowling group, but they're aided large by the meek effort of some of our batters.

    • Hope you're right Mick, I always look to our cricket team to take my mind away from the o'rf season. If there's no bounce back from them, my only back-up is the Thunder.

      • Yeah RJ, cricket is a great game takes our minds off footy for while but now its seems NRL is 365 day business - all it takes is a great knock or great partnership and it can turn a series

    • They need a talk from Steve Waugh. Learn what it takes for the mental disintegration of your opponents. To do that, you have to be completely switched on and focussed yourself.

The lack of red ball cricket has also not helped. Where is the Sheffield Shield? That's supposed to produce Test Cricketers, but all we have seen is T20 and a few one-dayers.

  • Team overall is getting too old and the current state of Shield cricket is uninspiring.

We are on the decline, unless a few unexpected youngsters jump out of the ground.

The bowlers tend to be pretty good game to game but the batters (ex Head) are basically flat track bullies.

Khawaja (38) should be pensioned off. Labuschagne (30) is hopelessly out of form. Smith (35) seems to be past it. Starc (34) is all over the shop innings to innings. Lyon (37) is not ever going to do a Warne and rip thru a team. Hazlewood (33) is good but he is no McGrath. Cummins (31) is inconsistent but generally good.

We miss Green but also need a genuine bowling all-rounder who can be our Flintoff, Pollock etc. I thought Cummins might turn into that but his batting is getting worse.

My opinion only and I am sure others will have different thoughts.

    • Have to agree with everything you've said Badger. Depressing but true. Also we can't continually bowl using the seam while the blokes from the Sub-Continent excell in that manner.
