  • I remember around 1977/78 Parts were to play Western Suburbs. Caroline Jones had a small segment on Rugby League on the ABC on Friday mornings, and she interviewed Graham Murray and another Parts player ( I can't remember who it was.

Caroline suggested to GM that Tommy was pretty tough and asked if he was concerned.  GM joked and said something like, "gee I hope he dosen't hurt me".

Well - Tommy belted GM from pillar to post that game.

"Who knows if we were talking to him. But also, if he goes to SL, I think that says a lot about his market at the moment and what all the other teams think.
Is Volkman worth the investment for at least another year? I would say yes."
